The poll shows that 11 people have the best 4wd ever built and everyone else wishes they had one:boink:

No real argument from me between the BIG Landcruiser and the little one (Prado..... Son of Lancruiser ;) )

Have had two of each and all have been as good as each other. (The 90 Series Prado might have been a different story if towing a van tho!!!!!)
I would have either at the drop of a hat but the two winning reasons I have the current Prado are:

1. Purchase price at the time!
2. Cost of fuel at the time of purchase...... As they are used as a daily work transporter and doing on average of over 40,000 kms per year was a big deciding point.... But I miss the power of the 4.7L V8 :(

Hi guys

I've been keeping an eye on this for a bit. Nice banter btw

I'm researching my next vehicle which will b a 4x4. Although I'm vanless at the present we will b looking at hiring one for short trips.

Jeep GC is in the mix , can't wait to see the Ford Everest but considering others. Clearly will have a say. Challenger ?? Too many products out There.

Would b interested to hear your thoughts and experiences

Cheers

We're all waiting to hear what the new tug is!
Nothing new!

Just a second hand 2004 VYII Holden Cross 8

Pro's
5.7ltr v8 auto, motor is strong with full history and low k's, had to wait a while to find one
AWD
Leaf spring rear end
2.5t towing and by all reports tow anything
twin cab ute
full leather
They were 60k brand new, picked it up with low k's full service history, spotless interior but exterior has a few scatches and shopping trolley dents for cheap!

Con's
Finished making them in 2005.
Very Long, in fact 5.4m stick out a little at car parks
Can be thirsty (but not as thirsty as the landcruiser on the highway or towing)
Heavy Steering

Got a bit of work to do to get it to my towing standards but for what I paid for it I have a good budget starting with the suspension, new front king springs ordered, looking at leaf spring airbags for back, replacing original Trans Cooler with the bigger heavy duty PWR aluminium one, gearbox is also booked in to be overhauled at same time.
Made a phone call today about a secondary feeder fuel tank which maybe on the cards a little later.and will do more as time permits as this vehicle will be my hobby/ongoing project and has to look neat to match the van!

Once I get all that done I will get colour mechanics around to weave their wand over the scratches and door dents!
