oh to live in a large block like that us city slickers are green with envy - enjoy the shed and have a barn dance for a grand opening

Now that's just down right unkind! :biggrin1: The rate I'm going I think I'll have 1/2 of a Bunnings in there by the time I die. Believe it or not the colours are as close a match to the house colours as we could find. Just know there is an Expander in there cosy and warm away from prying eyes and those buggers that broke into the storage place in another thread.

Yeah it does look good Brookes. I think this type of garage is great also for making sure you have minimal impact of sun discoloration on the fiberglass.

Can we see this from the road? When doing all my pontificating about what type of van, will it fit etc, I worked out there is probably an opportunity for someone with a few acres around Canberra to farm caravans ( would mean you wouldn't be hooving goats on the weekends....) there is a dearth of storage options.... No change from $100 a month in the ACT. Any chance of a photo with the doors open? looks fantastic!

Camden is $140 mth to park it out back of the local van dealership in a paddock high wire fence around it and chuck you cover over it, I've heard they get it in/out for you on pick up/drop off. Well it was when I enquried for our 2 yrs ago, Caravan park in Mittagong was $15 a wk so works out a bit cheaper per mth,

but as we use it at the drop of a hat and couldn't justify the storage cost, we managed to find space at home and since relocating a while ago it now lives outback not out front.

Can't be seen from the road but I can tell you it would be a PITA getting that sort of proposal through Palarang Council. My shed would fit 3x24 foot vans or perhaps 6 campers.

Ok, finally got my new ramps made, galvanized and bolted to driveway, my other ramps only suited the single axle that I had before. When backed up with jockey wheel down she sits level and can't roll back, In theory I could take the handbrake off and It should just sit there but haven't tried it! I still have another driveway on other side of house with carport and a shed down the back but won't fit a van. The good part about this setup is I have heaps of room to get underneath for any mods which I will start shortly. The cover fits good but will put it on first next time before I back her in.....gets a bit high down the back!

Fair enough, you do know it though when you hit the stops! Needless to say I make sure I've parked it before enjoying a few beers :)

Cheers.

Impressive Burnsey.
I can't work out from the pics how you managed to reinforce the sheet metal. What gives it strength to not collapse or sway sideways?

Hi Brad, the ramps are made from 6mm tread plate and is supported by the 6 side sections so no bend. From the underside view you can see that I've welded in bars between the sides to stop the sides from moving, it then becomes like a box section and then bolted front and back to driveway. The only way they will collapse is if the welds break and that's not going to happen....welded with a 3 phase mig with heaps of amps!

My other van lived there also like that for nearly 3 years. On the back of each ramp on the top section I also welded my daughters names, too much reflection to see in the pic but my girls were chuffed!

Cheers.
