Just sourced this from another forum, for those who are interested..........

''Redbook lists the engine specs for the 2.8 Cummins as 120 Kw @ 3600 rpm 360 Nm @ 1800 rpm.
Compare that to the YD25 128 / 140 Kw @ 4000rpm 403/450 Nm @ 2000rpm ,
V9X (ti550 engine) 170kW @ 3750rpm 550Nm @ 1750rpm
VQ35 (R52 Engine) 190kW @ 6400rpm 325Nm - no rpm listed.''

They will be
I spotted 2 of these new Navaras yesterday heading through the Yarra Valley.......looked much like the old one really :behindsofa:
They will be heading for the training mesh we are having in March.
Official release date in now April.
We have been told the delay is caused by the head of Nissan in Oz sending them back to Japan with more requests.
He wants them to come with more features etc to give them a market advantage.
We saw the accessories the other day. They have a canopy that would have the be the best looking canopy on the market. Sold as a premium canopy but genuine part. Plus all the usual stuff like bars etc.

There is 3 motors at this stage, 126 kw single turbo, 140 kw twin turbo and a 2.5 QR25 petrol for the 2wd single and d/cab options.
There is a DX, RX ST and ST-X. The St and ST-X are suppose to have the coil rear end and RX and DX set up for the one spec, trad spec etc.

Coil rear end should be well recieved @stuartcarr2002 I know a lot of people just won't consider DCabs because they are "truck like" coil bum and a functional canopy will help sell that.

I thought that would have been sorted months ago. If they are serious and want to sell them. Give them a 5 year 150000km warranty and affordable fixed price service costs and 15000km intervals. Don't have to go to Japan for that.

So does this mean a detuned Cummins donk or variation.
Na, it is a YS23 4 cyl TD. It is used in the Renault Master vans currently however in the NP300 it will be of a higher output.
Believe it or not the YS23 is a very reliable unit and never usually give us any dramas at work. The quick shift auto is the main problem child in the Master van. With this one it will have the V9X 7 speed auto, which again is a fairly reliable unit.

We won't know the final specs until next month. It is stuff like features according to spec levels etc that they wanted change in.
Pricing they say will be very competitive (hopefully not with Ranger)(too expensive IMO), possibly in line with D40 pre promotion pricing.
Service intervals should be 12 months 10000klms, inline with the T32 Exy, R52 Pathy and Qashqai. These 3 vehicles have all gone from 6 months to 12 months as they are all new models, so i can't see NP300 been any different.

I have seen Ironman 4x4 are advertisng bulbars and heaps of other accersories etc already for the new Navara, looks good kitted out (as most 4wds do).
I quite like the look of them, though i have a soft spot for Navaras having owned a D22 and a few family memebers having D40's.
There are so may new dual cabs (or updated ones) this year, so pricing point will be important for Nissan.

Price point is very important for this car to succeed. That said if they have a heap of features standard that will be as important. Just wish it would come out already. I want one :)

If I was ever going to switch camps, obvious price has to be right, but I want a good warranty, not just the standard 100k km and 3 yr. It would have to exceed that by a bit. I would like approx. $300 fixed price service costs. That's the way things are going. Just imagine if Hyundai were to launch a 4x4 twin cab. We all know what they would offer, so that's what I think Nissan need to do other wise its just "another one".
