Hi All
Been following the forum for a while but first post here. We have recently ordered a new Starcraft 17.58.3 OB and are currently just fine tuning some of the smaller details.
Thanks to this forum I think I have got most things covered but if anyone can see anything I may have missed I’d love to hear from them.
I have added most things from new that I want as I often mix up my ambitions and abilities and have big plans that never eventuate so I have tried to reduce the things I will have to do to it.
Options added at factory were....
Fibreglass walls all round
Roof air
150watt solar
164L Thetford fridge
Drifter control panel
2 x 12v power sockets - Under hutch at the end of double bed and next to bunks above cupboard
Wind up Antenna, TV, CD with external speakers
Double Power point above buffet below light switch
Annexe light on external drivers side above rear of fridge
External shower to the rear of bottom bunk
Extra hatch door - forward of ext shower hatch
Picnic table
Jockey wheel centre of draw bar
Bike rack
Alko ESC
Extended draw bar
Spare wheel to rear bumper bar
ATM upgrade 100kg extra payload
Caravan cover
I have also requested the two below items and have been told I can request it but the factory may say no. (I know people have had the below things done so if anyone can point me to the threads they are covered in that would be great so I can reference them when discussing with dealer)
3 way light switches and night lights
Tri fold table - For those who have done the tri-fold table would you recommend it and does it cause issues for more than 2 people to sit at?
Only thing I’m not sure about is adding a third water tank. I was considering adding a grey water tank but the cost is double the cost of a normal water tank. I wasn’t sure if I should bother at all or possibly add a third normal tank which I may not use initially and then could just re plumb it to a grey water tank later….Any ideas or thoughts on this would be appreciated as I’m not sure what is different on a grey water set up to justify the cost which is over double a standard tank…
Once delivered we'll have an Anderson from car to battery fitted as well as the ant flap kit. I also have a couple of sirocco 12v fans to fit so not sure if I will get them to do that as well just to save hassle later.
Now the long wait begins. We’ve requested a July / August delivery as I have just ripped down my shed and current caravan carport and have ordered a new larger shed and carport for the new van. As a result I needed time to get that sorted so we had to have a long lead time…..
Towing is with a T/D triton so might look at getting an exhaust and ecu tune done to assist with lag down low but once up and moving its a great car and pulls weight well....
Lastly and kind of off topic. The old shed had a 2.7l x 1.0w x 1.5D besser block and concrete pit in the floor. The new shed will be going over the old spot so I could keep the pit and incorporate it into the new shed slab. Never used it before so just after people’s opinions on keeping the pit vs filling it in….
Thanks again
Mick
