We are going to get a folding solar panel and was wondering how long to make the lead ? anyone using one have a suggestion on a good practical length for the lead back to the van

I have a 3m lead directly off the panel itself, and a 7m extension, all using 50A Anderson plugs. I've never had any issues.
Mine came with 5m leads and I have chopped the alligator clips off with about 200mm of lead and fitted anderson plugs the both sections of the leads.
