Enjoying your mods @Shane Norwell and have already copied the drop Jack extention, that's a doozie thanks mate.

Re the WDTV feeding the TV set, would it be possible to mount the WDTV to the back of the TV and then use wireless to stream to your TV where ever it is? Guess then you only need a short HDMI? Both our WDTVs are hard wired but I note reading the manual they are also wireless?

Well last night was the first with the new batteries and solar setup. Used about 35ah last night and by the time I woke up at about half 7 the batteries were already back to 100%

Gotta be happy with that.

Yeh mate you could easily do it that way if you wanted. The only reason I went the way I did Is I kinda like the reliability of cable and that the wd tv needs clean 12v power so I mounted it right next to the power supply

Couple more little jobs done over the last couple of days.

Noticed that there was a couple of stone chips on the inside of the rear bar on the van so it made me pull my finger out making the mud flaps I've been meaning to get done.

Made them as wide and as long as I could without looking stupid, their about 200mm from the ground.

And have been compiling the bits and pieces for next g internet in more out of the way areas. So I've made a mast for the front of the van, the aerial is slightly lower than the roof of the van in travel mode and up to 8m high when needed.

Update tome boys and girls, if only a small one.
Purchased a reverse camera for the van to connect to the in dash head unit already fitted to the patrol, but as we already have a camera fitted to the rear of the car and only one input on the head unit I used a pair of change over relays. 198684d9d66adb034c428df1aeba6f50.jpg
I've ran the earth to trigger the relays from the caravan via the 12 pin plug, reason for this is so that when I hook up the van the relays will switch and thus changing to the van mounted camera.

Also got a nice little 4pin plug with a Solid connection off evilbay for bugger all to connect van to car. 99bce89cbc0f357dd5e2eeed1a4e656d.jpg

So the next mod was yo spring the big girl over, because its so long I am worried about dragging it's bum, gained about 80mm of clearance with no difference to the way it tows.
But then the legs were a bit short in some places (including the driveway) so added a piece of 30x30 shs and lynch pins to the legs.

I have since cleaned and painted them.

Great idea!
I will do this on the weekend, simple solution .
I installed the same battery monitor in our last van, it's one of the most reliable keeping track of amps bringing up all the history.

Does your 3G booster work well?
I have just started considering one

Well done on the mods!!

Thanks Paul, always something going on. We haven't actually stayed anywhere that I've needed to try the 3G yet but that'll all change on the long weekend so I'll report back.

Added another mod recently.
This will give you a clue as to what it is but don't want to share to much more about the method/install.

Hopefully that'll be a little more of a scumbag deterrent considering the van is out on the driveway.

Finished up a couple of mods today, got the camera mounted mounted and the remainder of the wiring done.
Camera located above the break light right at the top of the van.
image.jpg

I've also added a switch in the patrol so I can turn the camera on without putting the car in reverse.
image.jpg

So this switch powers up the cameras as well as triggering the screen to thinking you have put the car in reverse, however doing this would normally activate the reverse lights on the car (not something you want while driving down the road) so I've wired a pair of diodes in so this doesn't happen.

And the view from the van camera.
image.jpg

The ladder you can see is hard up against the back of the van and the gates in the background are 7 meters back.

I also got sick of the jayco grey water fittings, we found now as the weather is getting colder it's getting harder and harder to push on, to the point that last trip I waved the clear hose over the camp fire to soften it up to make it fit easier.
So I grabbed so screw on fittings from the plumbing shop today and fitted them up.
image.jpg

And glued fittings on the van.
image.jpg

And I slid a length of 32mm retic pipe up each chassis rail for the grey water hose.

So I cut the 10m length into 6 and a 4 m pieces so we can use either or both depending on the distance needed. Just need to but out a locking mechanism to hold them in during travel, not that I think they'll move but SWMBO is sceptical.

Works well Shane but they will fall out if not held in. I lost one on the run home from Cameron Corner.

Not on the van but on our previous Cruiser...... I fitted a 3 way switch (On/Off/On) for the reversing cam. On #1 was powered via the reverse light and On #2 was powered directly to battery and fused. Was great for backing up to the van tow hitch and not having the screen switch on and off.

Knocked a couple of little jobs over on my days off.
Fitted an 800w inverter in with the batteries and had it connected to a double power point under our bed for the electric blanket and another on the kitchen bench for the toaster.

Also fitted led flood lights to each corner of the van.

These are wired individually from the front boot

And all together from my bed side table in case of noises in the night or whatever.
