Not long after we got the Expanda, I set about making a list of mods (old school style paper & pencil) that I wanted to do. I think I've done most of them, but now can't find my list! Should have gone new school, so I'll start it again here, that way it can't get lost :)
It will likely be an ever increasing list that gets longer before it gets shorter!

- External hatch on rear bed tunnel boot (drivers side only)
- Reversing camera (thinking IP camera connected to wireless router in van for connectivity to iPad/iPhone from within vehicle)
- Diesel heater (will need to research this one)
- More under body protection on electrics (cables)
- Inline (BEST) water filter under sink
- Reversing light (LED)
- LED light above dinette table

A bunch of good ideas.
I really like the idea about an IP camera, have you made any progress with this mod.
Such as what equipment to buy.
It could solve many issues with cabling and location of display screen in car.

with IP camera what would the delay be? I know my IP cameras I have setup for security its like 2-3 seconds
@davemc & @yabbietol -
I happen to have a Sony bullet camera kicking about, it will stream 1080P @ 30 IPS so there won't be any delay - all done in realtime :)
All I need to do is find a good spot to mount it!

Cheers,
Paul
PS - this is the industry I work in

So the next mod comes only after never using the microwave oven. We deliberated when originally ordering whether to get it or not - figured we could take it out if not needed later on - appears that time has come, and it's going!
First thing was to get it out - tick.
Next came deciding how best to use the new found storage space - decided to go with a half width shelf and open space on the other side.
To maximise the opening, I had to remove the two pieces of timber that were just used to frame out the microwave.
That's all I've done this far, off to Jayco tomorrow to order a cupboard door of the right dimension.
The other thing I'll be doing while at Jayco is investigating the 50/50 split mattress. The upcoming 4 weeks away in the Expanda really means the bed-levelling mod needs to get done sooner rather than later.
Cheers,
Paul

So I never actually took any photos of the mod I had to do to raise the bed end, but in reality it was very simple - just open the bed end and measure across the level of the base and get a piece of ply of suffient size.
The most difficult part was removing the frame to allow me to lift it up - quarter of a turn at a time!
Went back in much faster as I could fit the cordless in.
It's a great improvement, apparently the best mod I have done!
The ordered a new 50/50 split mattress from Sumberest - only $350
Worth every cent

Hi @S&P, you have done some ace mods mate, the table storage in particular, I have never even thought of using that space, but will now!
Cheers, Chris
Thanks Chris, it is a decent amount of space. Can easily fit a couple of chairs or tables and saves a lot of mucking around with moving things in and out of the van.
Plenty of other good ideas on the forum too, a lot of clever people have done much cleverer things than I!

We have a 16.49 3 OB too. Love your mods. Really like the toolbox & love the idea of access hatch for the rear storage.
