That is certainly a tidy job, the bike rack is certainly a construction....................................very good.

You have a double post on my end so might want to get rid of one..... one at 2.30 and one at 2.50.
Thanks @Drover - it’s an ISI carrier, I had that base made up before they started making their own and I needed it to be at a certain height to follow the lines of the front of the Expanda to give the clearance I needed. It’s a great carrier, PITA to adjust for other bikes but .
The box has exceeded my expectations, finally no climbing over a bbq for a quick overnight stay and I can fit my big chairs in the rear storage box now as I don’t have to take along the Webber stand. I have hit the wall twice with it now and both times broken the plastic curtain divider.
My wife may have seen the cost yesterday, that’s a different story...

How time flies, I was just doing a search on a Jayco wheel base length and found my old Expanda Build here. Unfortunately due to work I had to sell our Expanda (and its tow car) as I was relocated to Singapore for a few years - but in 2 weeks we are back! I ordered our new car earlier this year given the current lead times, a Ford Everest Platinum V6 with a few little upgrades to help it get us back into touring mode. Unfortunately Jayco stopped making the Expanda and the LC300 is up there price wise - crazy!

I had been searching for the past few months for a near new Expanda and even had the opportunity to buy our old (this one) back again but it was in Adelaide and had spent the last couple of years as a rental - the cosmetic damage was too much for my liking. Last week however a van popped up that peeked our interest and happy to report that we put a deposit down on it and collect on the 27th December... A new to us, Jayco All Terrain Off Grid X 2023 22.68 - we wanted an Expanda but this was just too good to say no too. We are keeping it as a surprise to our kids, they will find out when we drive into Jayco to collect it. The following week we will do a sneaky Caravan Park shake down at Darlington Beach. I am almost 4 years out of practice and we gave a lot of our stuff away when we sold our van and fled the country mid covid... Luckily but, we kept the house! Once It arrives and collect it I will update here and share the joy.

Thanks Drover, hopefully it is as they say - between 12k to 16k kms - lets see how that fits with real world use and towing. Crazy land is right but we are just swapping back for a different kind of crazy! You don't realise just how good we have it in Australia until you don't have it - we cannot wait to see the stars in night sky again!

Even though its many decades since my last visit I imagine Singa's is just as hectic now as it ever was, I even used to drive around the place ... To lay on your back out west and look at the night sky and marvel, its a wonderful vista for sure ... Many don't appreciate what we really have..........

I would be surprised if it needs AdBlue, I have the Ranger Platinum 2024.5 with the V6 (same engine) and no AdBlue required. Tows really well!

@Johnanbev the Ranger is commercial, no AdBlue the Everest is passenger, they have AdBlue , mate is buying a new Everest Platinum and is bitching like hell about it, plus the wait for the thing ......................... the price tag scared me off.............

Didn't know that difference. The fuel access for the truck has a port for AdBlue fill, but is sealed off by a rubber plug. I did wonder about that, but I do wonder about a lot of stuff on that truck!
Price tag gets very scary when you add bull bar, UHF radio, tow mirrors and dash cam. Though at my age I am beginning to need some of the electronic stuff.
I am not looking forward to the day the electronic gizmos get into the system!!
Lovely thing to drive though, after you get through the what the fuc is it doing now stage!

Son in Law has just got a new Platinum Ranger, the gixmo's are mind boggling, hate to think of the $$ spent as hes swapped out the tub and gone to a tray with fridge, dog box incorporating a power station, stand up fridge, bull bar, he went new suspension from the start as he says the Rangers suspension is shot after a few months of work, this time went the GVM upgrade as wasn't much left of load cap ....

I have a next generation sport V6 it’s a little thirsty around 18LPH but I’m not afraid of that right peddle. From Childers to Brisbane a couple of days ago it was sitting on 22LPH but slowly reduced once we got away from the Gold Coast!! I’ve just replaced the tyres which were 255’s with 275’s on 18” rims so maybe that made a difference I’m hoping not as my speed hasn’t increased. I used to sit on 106kph which was 100 actual now the Speedo is accurate so I sit on 100KPI. Definitely needed airbags it used to sag in the bum but that’s all I’ve done to it, 46,000k on her now mostly towing goes okay I just hate all the electronic crap but I’m old lol
