Recall - Just in time for Christmas

Hi All,

I just seen this on the ACCC Twitter feed.

There are 2 current recalls for certain Jayco Caravans:
1. The brake wiring connector at the axle may not be fitted correctly. http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1030674
2. The axle U-bolt nuts may have been installed with the incorrect torque setting. http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1030670

You can check if your chassis number is effected at each of the links.

Mine is, so I have booked it in to get checked, but time was getting tight as it is getting so close to Christmas.

Got my recall letter today.

Seeing that there is a recall, 1st service should be for free!

Got my letter today also and have it booked into Page Bros on Friday, That is the day they have dedicated to the recall from what i got told today !

Mine is on the list as well, thanks Ragracing, greatly appreciated. We head off on a 3000km trip in 3 weeks and would have had no idea.
Have just emailed Camperland to work out the next steps.

Yep that looks like me too, like I said on the other thread, I wonder if it was because of me, I told them in September my brake wires were not crimped as well as other things!

Called Lube Mobile as the site said and they booked me in for next Tuesday no hassle at all and no cost through them obviously.

Me to Ants, rang Camperland and they are full up. They sound under the pump. Ended up booking Lube Mobile as well for next thursday. So all good here as well. So far trouble free.

I dont know what Jayco are up to. Mine is on the list and I have had nothing from Jayco or the dealer to advise of the recall, I even sent the dealer a email yesterday and still nothing.
I am tempted to just call Lube mobile and get it booked in.
Does anyone know if we must have the recall letter to book it in??

I only got my letter yesterday but was booked in off the information on the ACCC website!

I received my letter Monday for the nuts on the U bolts, does anyone have an idea what the torq setting is they want them to be done at? Quicker for me to just do it myself.

Hey Mate,
I am yet to receive my letters. I just went off the recall site, it lists all the chassis numbers and Lube Mobile have these on hand. Once I gave them my chassis number, they pulled up all my details so at least Jayco have shared this. Makes life a little easier.

Thanks ragracing for the heads up, got the two letters Friday “yah” thought I might have got left out, oh well. Think I might give Lube mobile a call Jayco seems a little hard after speaking with them Friday.
