Outback van height 2013 (Beam) to 2104 (Independant)

Was just surfing Expandas Downunder as you do and read the post from Nagga's "Off we go" . Great looking Patrol but what got my eye was the 2014 suspension on his van. Quickly compared the height to my 2013 van and his definitley sits higher standard.

Glad I am not the only one who has noticed this, I thought it was an optical illusion because of the black wheel arches!

I noticed it and I am a bit concerned about the Disco with standard plough hitch
Swerve here is a pic of a 17.58 to compare to yours. Looks higher

They do look really high this year with the new suspension. I don't mind them but older people with bad knees might not. That one above looks like it needs a double folding step. Easy to do mods under .

Yep yours is higher or similiar to the green 2014.

My theroy is I doubt Jayco has different rate springs laying around, as mine is singale axle leaf, the weight is not that much different then Daves Dual axle model, so with less weight per spring pack x 4 his will sit higher, providing we all use the same rate springs.

Dave, maybe you can measure the length between the flat axle mount of the spring and directly up ? also a photo of your shackle angles ?

To add I would like my van an extra 50mm higher so it sits level with my Patrol (lifted) even with a drop shank/ tounge its to high (4WD)

@Swerve I would measure when we get one. Still 40 days to go . this is one of the only pics I could find of the one we are getting from the Trading Post.
Nothing on Jayco website.
Yes a bit worried how it line up with the Land Rover.. Rather not put a Mitch Hitch on until I know. Over spent now so no Annexe this year.

@navmatt Well this time last year we where looking at soft floor campers for around $4-5k.. We would of spent that and some just on the options
I still want an Annexe and shade walls. Another Battery... Toolbox... I probably have to wait

Welcome to the club Dave, a week ago I would have said I had my van just the way I want it. Now Iam looking at another $2-3k

With the annexe when we looking at second hand vans we kept seeing "Annexe only used twice" so wonder if the shades will be ok.
A lot cheaper, although then we looking at Anti flap

We are just going to get a privacy screen for starters
