What is the Tare weight? (might have missed it somewhere)
The van had an empty plated tare from the factory of 2888kg. The extra water tank and grey tank along with one or two other mods including the solar and battery have increased this to 3055kg. Allowing a modest 445kg payload of which over half (250kg) can be fresh water. I have not had it over the weigh bridge in full road trim, but suspect we will be close to our plated 3499kg ATM

Cheers Chris

I note that there is not a section for the discussion of Silverline models yet. There are a couple of Silverline specific issues we have had, the most serious involving front kitchen models with the long slide out. These models are fitted with a series of nylon rollers to help support the weight just inside the wall line at the base of the slide out. There is a section of aluminium angle fitted underneath against the outside lip of the slide out which comes into contact with the rollers before the mechanism reaches the fully retracted status. This creates a situation where the base sits out about 10mm - 15mm when retracted, although the top will be closed up snug. To rectify this, a 15mm strip had to be trimmed off the angle which effectively allowed the slide out to close squarely and snug - top and bottom. Another issue we have had is the black acrylic trim on both sides of the front window cover has developed cracks caused by too hard texture adhesive not allowing expansion and contraction with heating and cooling. Build quality is however a head and shoulders better than the previous two Sterlings we have owned and the new composite vacuum formed roof (smooth, strong - you can walk all over it) and J-tech suspension along with gas bottle locker with slide out are all great improvements.

Cheers Chris

Mod done a couple of weeks ago. "Sullage" hoses stored inside chassis rails. 6m on LH side and 3m on RH side.
