Well something that many have thought is now going to the ACCC, are Jayco Off Road vans really Off Road, something that many other manufacturers should be looked at as well, especially if the warranty says no off road driving covered yet some have the stickers on van saying Off Road or All terrain ............ I imagine someone has a had a hissy with a warranty claim most likely.

Interesting I think you nailed it, someone having a hissy fit. In my last role we had many dealings with the accc I for one have little respect for them which is sad. As for the ad at Kynuna it maybe a designated 4WD track but I’d take my van on it most days but then again I still have some common sense left

but then again I still have some common sense left...as you note Drover, becoming a rare commodity!

I think manufacturers need to come to grips with the new Consumers, gone are the days where "common sense" prevailed, now everything has to be spelled out in detail or risk getting sued.
"Offroad" to some can mean just leaving the bitumen and driving on a reasonably well formed dirt road...while for others it may mean a Simpson Desert crossing or a Fraser Island run!

Reminds me of the instructions on fold up prams..."REMOVE BABY BEFORE FOLDING".

My sales guy mentioned 'it's an outback, not an offroad van' several times during the sale. However I've dragged my jayco everywhere and never had a warranty push back - although that could be because I always go to an authorised repairer rather than the dealer.

Some drivers do stupid things and then look to blame anything other than their own decision making.

Big Mal is semi off road, whatever that means, I do laugh at the vans all geared up with a clearance twice the height or more of the tug ................. My father in law roamed the outback when the roads were proper dirt roads, EH Holden with a small Franklin van behind, even up Teewah beach to see the recently beached Cherry Venture, all in 2WD and a very domestic van with no clearance ............

Off Road is a good selling point............
