Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has had an issue with no 12V supply to the back of the 150 Lt fridge? Some parts in the back are heating up but it is not cooling down inside on any of the 3 energy sources. I have been told that the controls work off 12V so loosing this supply would disable it entirely(?) :noidea:

It is only a few months old, I chased the wiring somewhat looking for damage but all looks ok. I could not find exactly where it was powered from tho, battery end.

Dont laugh as I am a leco :drunk: , but I have little knowledge of how they work (magic black box stuff :spy:) and I'm also working nights all weekend, and racking my brain  trying to think would could be wrong.

Any help would be great
Dane :eek-53:

Should work on gas without 12v, if still under warranty I would take it back as a new fridge may be in order, I know friends of ours have had problems with their new 150l fridge.

I have checked and it's not a fuse (accessible one). I checked and the 12V with no power goes to the 12pin trailer plug off to the car, but that don't explain why its not getting cold, in the driveway off 240v.

The van model is 12/13 17.56-2
The fridge is either RM2453 / RM2553

It is booked in Monday for a look by the local jayco's nominated fridge people but was just having a look to see it wasn't something basic that they may try and put back on me. Have a four day weekend at a 4by comp i need cold beer for ;)

Hi everybody, I picked up my van on February 17th this year and guess what, No Fridge work on Gas, or 240 volt. Have had it checked as the element was warming up as it is supposed to do but still no getting cold on the inside. I have taken it to a Dometic agent and they ran tests and have found that the Main Chiller Unit is blown, not bad for a van and fridge that is only 1 month old! I have it booked in with Jayco's people on the 1st of April, as the Dometic agent was unable to remove the fridge from the Cabinetry, so the then is problem number 2. So after having the van for a little over a month, which I love, I am still not able to use the fridge which is limiting the usage! Hopefully the 1st of April will shed some more light on the subject and the problems can either be fixed or the fridge totally replaced!

Cheers Ben

Hey @Ben, thanks for posting, hopefully it's not too much of a saga for either of us :distress:

If thats the case with mine I might be waiting a while, apparently I can't get in for a service til June!! I wonder if it has anything to do with not purchasing from my local dealer ...

Dane.

Hey @Dane, the biggest problem I was told by the Dometic dealer was getting the fridge out of the cabinetry. Hopefully they can get this sorted ASAP, cause I plan to go away at Easter, so need to have a fridge up and working. I rang the Jayco Factory and got instructions from them as to where to take it. Will let you know how I go when I take it in.

Cheers Ben

Well I had mine back into the fridgey mob today and hopefully all sorted and over :D They said it was getting cool. I got it running on gas (they recommended it) to ensure it gets right down on temp overnight. bit of a pita but fingers crossed all good now!

Hi guys wondering if anyone has any ideas. Have put freezer blocks in the freezer and bottles of water in fridge over night to see if it gets cold. Put on gas for two hrs then 240v over night.. Its a 2012 model. Ive used it twice and was working fine. Van is on a bit of a slope now and has been on over night. Last time i used it you could actually feel the fins inside the fridge getting cold, this time i can't. There is heat coming out the back and being cold outside i would have thought it would work really well. Just about to go travelling for 23 days and this is all i need. So was wondering if anyone has come across this problem. cheers

Check the thermostat , they often fail with lack of use. Also turn the fridge up, in cold weather you need to turn them up, in warm weather turn them down, all to do with the heat exchange.

Thanks @crackacoldie . Have put it back on gas this morning set on max to see how it goes. Is there anyway to know if thermostat not working and what does it control. 12v, 240 or gas

Just found on there website for the 3 way fridge to work efficently the fridge has to be level in both directions. So since I've parked on a slope and van not quite level even with jacks wound all the way up. Might try some block of timber. will let you guys know how i go
