Yeh Fortuner is a daft name. I used to drive a 2006 4Runner V6. Much better name, and a pretty awesome car for me at that time.
Yes, the Hilux is rated 3200 in auto. Not sure why Prado only gets 2500kg.
Im towing a 16.49.4. Only 1850kg max loaded.

The Prado is built on the old 80 series frame and that is what they are rated to tow.

Yep, pretty bad name, but they were probably told, "your new car will be called". Surely Toyota Australia didn't have a say in that. 4Runner would have been better as it has brand awareness here already.
