Thanks @Crusty181 that's a great idea audio books thanks. Yeah that's why we thought driving a night for the kids as they get so bored. There is also something calming about driving at night :)
@Bluey we staying at big 4 whitsunday adventure park :) thanks for the recommendation for Clair view park, I will look into it!

yeah, when ours were little, all travelling used to be at night,
wake them up about 1ish for toilet, pack them into the car, they wake up at Macca's carpark in Geraldton, or Albany or Kalgoorlie depending on which direction we were heading

plus as a bonus, there was always less traffic - and HID spotlights are GREAT for long distance night driving
sucked big time whenever there was another car coming, but thats usually infrequent

Thanks @chartrock , I'll let my hubby know he built it:)

We leaving for airlie beach soon. It says I'm my safari it will take 25 hours to get there. Should I add more hours cause I'm towing a caravan? We definately stopping along the way. We are taking a week to get there.
First stop Coffs Harbour which is 7 hours from home, then caloundra,then yeppon then airlie beach.
Also what's it like towing at night?
I'm jealous , have a great trip. Watch out for the Wildlife on the roads especially b4 sunrise and just after sunset
That's when they're out grazing most.

clair view isn't a 4 star park just in middle of nowhere and on the coast blink and u miss it good spot to rest tides go out just guessing 1 km or more ??????? I walked to waters edge it was so far its so flat the beach got there, tide turned had too get back in comes in quick didn't want to get stuck half way one minute tide all way out next just like normal beach crazy 1770 a good spot too captian cook landed there in 1770 hence the name first spot he landed in Australia last place u can surf on the coast not far from Bundaberg north any other questions im happy too think of other good spots oh if its crab season ask for crab sandwiches at servos once past bundy at airly can recommend ocean rafting or ocean safari maybe now 3 days in one blasting around in a big twin motored rubber ducky Whitehaven beach they go there a must for anyone !!!!!!!!
