Hey guys we finally got our pop top expanda last week:cheer2: We have been so busy with other things un caravan related and will be popping it open this weekend to do a few mods and pack everything for our trip from Sydney to Airlie Beach in a couple of weeks:cheer2:. The kids were so excited seeing it in the driveway after school the day we got it.
I will put photos up soon,at the moment its sitting comfortably under our awning and its a pretty good fit.
Thanks so much for all your advice and tips so far and hopefully now can help out the same way now that we have our own expanda.:)

What a great carport. :drum:

Thanks @chartrock , I'll let my hubby know he built it:)

We leaving for airlie beach soon. It says I'm my safari it will take 25 hours to get there. Should I add more hours cause I'm towing a caravan? We definately stopping along the way. We are taking a week to get there.
First stop Coffs Harbour which is 7 hours from home, then caloundra, then yeppon then airlie beach.
Also what's it like towing at night?

Have a safe trip.
When towing at night its like not towing, keep plenty of braking distance and stop if your tired. And watch for wildlife.

Also remember your headlights maybe aiming a bit higher too with the weight of the Expanda on the back.

I prefer night driving for the first leg of the trip. Coming from Mexico on the southern side of the Rio Murray, we head north almost every year like migrating dodo's.

I get a few hours sleep before we head off, generally about midnight. We like to smash out the first leg to get as far north as possible and its a bit unfair making my little mate sit awake for 15 hours straight during the day. During the night my little guy sleeps, my partner sleeps, I listen to audio books, and the km's slide on by. That way we can get around 15 hours drive under our belt the first leg ......... and the "Extra-ordinary Time Machine" teleports the non driving members of the team mysteriously to a better place in what seems (to them) like a nano-second. They say that the first 8 or 10 hours only feels like minutes. And I get some peaceful "reading" done (which is the only "reading" I ever do.)

Plus I can take the odd dribble photo, for blackmail use later on. I have a blog with a loyal audience and high expectations; and my partner knows all too well that Ill happy use her misfortune for entertainment !!!!!
