G'day moto moto & congratulations, I'm pretty sure I'm the one who bought your 14.44-4. (The family is loving it) I also had to convert the dinette table to a bed for the little one. It works well & has removable legs. Not sure about the 16.49 but with the 14.44 if u don't order from factory you get different base cushions which are rounded whereas the bed converter option they give you squared off cushions. I took some photos which I'll put up in the how to section later today if anyone interested ..

Hey there @Ss--ss , great to see you found the forum, i was hoping my expanda forum sticker on the van might lead you here. Thanks for the photo too yes the rounded standard cushions make it hard to make a bed. I am pricing a few different options at the moment. As discussed when you first looked at my van i looked at converting the dinette on the 14 too but never got around to it. Looks like i will still have to do it anyway with the latest van.

Glad to hear your family are loving the van, we loved it too! It was affectionately known in our household as 'bunkabed', named by my then youngest when we first got it. Holidays are just so much easier in a Expanda compared to the campers.

U can still use as a bed converter, you just turn the cushion around so the roll is at the back....that's how jayco made ours

Hey patto where'd the bed convertor go in the L shape, right across I guess? We had the L shape with 3 kids, just slept one on the long side. The fold down flap would hold them in, and she slept there till she was 15 quite comfy. Great table for getting 6-7 people around too.

Sorry Moto OT
yep, down along side the L-shape so you end up with a large rectangle shape. If you order from factory the base seat comes flat rather than rounded. It actually fits together quite nicely and ends up being quite a decent size. As you say, for smaller kids you can get away without the converter and just sleep on the seat. Just need to be careful they don't roll off.

Thanks @benandjordansmum do you mind posting a pic of this? I was actually hoping to do exactly that.
I have taken a few photos for u

This is how it sits normally

This is with the base cushion turned around

This is with the table lowered. U can see it is sitting on the little bits of timber that hold it in place. They r not normally there if u don't have the bed converter.

This is with it in place. U can see on the right side I have turned the roll to the back to keep it flat. I left the roll forward on the left side to show the difference. Depending on who is sleeping on the bed is whether we put the back cushions back on or underneath the bed. My son prefers them off as he is nearly 6 foot.

Thanks for sharing @benandjordansmum that is exactly what i was hoping to do. Looks easy enough, i just need to get the foam bit to go on the dinette, either through Jayco or Clark Rubber.

I get the van in two days so once i have it will check exactly what i need.

Thanks again for sharing, those photos have really put my mind at ease, that is, what i was hoping to do can work.

I have picked up our new (second hand) van. Drove down to Albury Jayco early Friday for the lunch time hand over. I must say it was very comprehensive, and the customer service was very good.

The previous owner kept this van in amazing condition and did some really great, well thought out modifications. Also the options on the van well and truely exceeded what i could afford if i purchased a new one, so very happy with the purchase.

My favorite features are the ensuite and TV. My favorite mods already completed are the 50/50 folder after market matresses and the holiday annexes bed end covers, both awesome mods. Really the extras on the van are still surprising me.

Here are a few pics from delivery.

Straight after pick up i headed to Lake Hume Tourist Park, last time i was there was about 3 years ago, possibly the best view from any caravan park i have ever stayed at. I have always had the same site (72) the three times i have stayed there.

All went well for the trip home on the saturday, the van towed well, very similar to my old 14 series. Fuel consumption was only slightly up which was good.
