I have the female (soft) side of the velcro on the covers and the male (spikey) on the van although that was a mistake by the guys who made it for me as i wanted it the other way around!
I had them, made by Alpine awnings who do the awnings ect for Page broths in Melbourne, the material that they used is the same as whats used for the bag awning on an Eagle, Swan ect and the same as the bag end for pre hard lid expandas and the pop tops.
The guys at Alpine were great, they also made the "big" canvas bag that the Webber Q is inside and then sits between the gas bottles. If you wnat a photo let me know and i will take one on the weekend.
Cheers

Thanks heaps mate. No need for a pic but thanks for the offer. We are going to measure up and then the wife is going to make some up - she is pretty handy on a sewing machine. :) Made our hose bags too.

I was thinking that the female side would be better on the van, just wanted to know how yours was setup.
Cheers

Hi Leesy, looks good.

I have a question regarding the fold down table. Did you try and find one of the internal frames to screw it into, or did you just go straight in the wall? I have a similar table I got from ebay, but have be holding off installing it.

Thanks

Jason

I had the same concerns! i did not try and pick ap frame as i had no idea where it would be, i pre drilled and then used a stainless screw, i will get back to you with the size, i think it was 8 gauge 15mm, i checked the sizes of other screws that had been screwed into the same side of the van for size, marked it out making sure that the van is level first or use a large carpenters square rested along the top of the checker plate (if you have an OB) after drilling the pilot holes i pushed some white silicon into then, it was a new product i had not seen that i got from Bowens called tool box mate, its a silicon and true adhesive in one, i smeared that on the arm also and screwd it on.
I took the hinge off the table to make it easier for the first side and then screwed it back on the table once it was on the van to mark the second side, took that one off the table to make it easier to put on the van then let it sit to dry a while the put the table back on the hinges and its done!
Wiped away the excess sealent and it was all good!
Happy for you to PM me if you want anymore info.
Cheers,
Paul

Yes female on the van is ideal, Alpine canvas did it around the wrong way for me and as i picked them up 2 days before heading for the Oodnadatta track i diddnt worry about it.

Leesy, great mods. clear end covers are on my list to do, great to see yours. did you add more press studs or use existing ones along with bed ends?? thx Pace.

I added more studs, i bought them from RV world in Ferntree Gully, you can get them online from them too, i also cut a tab of plastic and folded it over the edge where the stud goes to double the thickness to make it stronger, pilot hole into the hard lid of course too. Take note of the angles also as to run aorund the top of the hard lid with a straight line will mean it wont fit as the back edge is lower than the hinge end, if you have an old sheet to cut up and muck around with as a template that will halp rather than me having to make a second one.... I have also seen another post where they attached rubber bungee cord loops through the plastic and just hook them over the existing studs for the privacy ends, would be quicker and easier that way!
Good luck!

Thanks for the info Paul.

I worked out roughly where the frames were from where the cupboard verticals are in the inside. From what I could tell, each vertical piece of the inside cupboards is screwed into an aluminum frame section.

The problem I was facing is how to transcribe the inside location acurately to the outside.

Using lots of screws and some sort of sealant / adhesive sounds like a much easier way to go. It also gives me the flexability of positioning the first table, so I can potentially add a second table later on.

Thanks
Jason

If you silicone it properly, it will be solid as a rock. To be honest, I could not see the Jayco guys looking for studs. I am waiting to see the report on the decal application. I am thinking about adding a second table. What price were the decals Leesy? Also Leesy, where is your spare wheel?

Spare is in the normal spot at the minute, the webber sits on top just strapped down but i plan to relocate to the rear underneath, the decals i was quoted $230 for just the one side which is crazy so looking at other options... will post results!

I made them, plastic is just from bunnings and the screw in press studs are from RV world in fern tree gully Vic, they also have avweb site but you can get them most van shops. If u have an ols sheet for a template that would be good. Measure carefully the angle can be tricky! All up ess than $70!! Good luck

HI all, been a tad busy with work n kins n stuff so a little behind on posts! i have attached a few shots of the curtains i installed in the panda, Ikea for the top rails and curtains, the heavy block out curtains are also Ikea and then i had them customed by commercial upholstery in Melb (Do great mattresses, curtains, awnings, privacy screen ect for vans) to fit around the cuboard, for the bottom we cut the drop in half and used sail rail from RV World.
full light block out and much warmer in the little inclosed inviroment!

Lessy, I love the curtains. How did you screw them into the roof. We have ordered a new Panda and would love to do this when we receive it. I have used these rails in my house. You can't beat the prices for IKEA curtains and rails.
