Righto so to the people that read of my D40's fuel issues in a stracraft thread............well the Navatar has been retired to a dealer in Perth. Sad to see the old girl go after some great trips (not to mention a war chest of money pumped into her :sorrow:), but the decision had to be made and permission was granted by the ol wifey to "Do what we should have done in the first place" - her exact words.
Welcome Ranger!

First job was a little shopping, since we live in woop woop

Looks good infront of the van doesnt it

First mod was changing the air valve caps (intended as a joke), and putting on a rhino backbone system, pioneer tray and awning. It also received the obligatory dash mat & seat covers

Doing the 2" suspension install tomorrow morning then a set of BFG KO2's & snorkel on Friday. Bullbar and spotties on in a few weeks. Tow pro and UltraGauge next week. Still umming and arring on canopies at this stage.....leaning towards the ARB ascent but still unsure

I'd be interested in what you think of the Ranger as I too have a D40 (2007) which is getting long in the tooth and the Ranger is the top of my shopping list.....your Ranger is looking mighty fine :)

Set up looking good!!
We have both same(van and ute). I love our ranger but our nav had more punch and used less fuel towing the van. Not sure if we had a pearla nav or dud ranger:noidea:. Bloody great ute though. and our dealings with for have been great!!!! Just got a new auto in ours under warranty . Had a loan car and got the ute back in four working days, that's pretty darn good after sales support as far as I'm concerned!!!:clap2:

Here's the Ranger now with the ARB summit bullbar on front and spotties. Lift and tyres make it look and feel alot better.....fuel usage went up a bit as youd expect. All packed ready for our trip next week so see how we go with a full load in tow and the boats on roof :distrust:

Also put in and programmed the UltraGauge that i got sent over from the states. Ill post a pic when i remember for those that are interested or dont know what they are. Gives me real time read outs for everything that i need when driving like Auto Transmission Temp, Turbo boost ect... ive also got the exact psi readings for each tyre being displayed on the rig aswell which is handy :)

Hi @Laneway , nice looking rig.
I have a couple of questions. What lift kit did you use and was there a particular reason for not going the factory snorkel?
The lift is 'Outback Armour' 2-3" lift with 200kg leafs in rear. Nice bit of kit! Can pick them up as a kit for between $1650-2k supply. Tyres are 265/70/17 BFG KO2
I could have got the dealer to put snorkel on but i was time poor and i live 900kms from the dealer so i had to view it before anything could be done.....i basically drove down there, drove the car and headed home.
I like the TJM snorkel as you can change the head to a wedgetail head they have incase i feel like it in the future....and after having safari snorkels this one feels just as good if not better in there plastic material.....or it could just be me :)

Mighty fine looking specimen !!

Interested about the ultra gauge. I was going to get a scan gauge , but thinking that looks to be more suitable?

@Turtle i have the factory snorkel , the air intake head is half the size of tjm or safari and in my opinion don't look as neat as the aftermarket ones.

Heres the Ultra gauge. I have just mounted it on the steering column so its not sticking up anywhere annoying me or having me to take my eyes away from right infront of me. The thing i like about it is you can program it to whatever you want to read out on any page. I think you can have 8 different pages of readings that you would like displayed and you can choose how many aswell on each page. Has so many settings and a tidy little unit.

Cheers @Laneway
That's looks perfect!
Did you get it direct from ultra-gauge.com in the US? If so how long did it take to arrive?
I've only managed to find one Aus stockist whom are nearby. They have in stock the
em plus $229 and mx1.3 $249.
Cheers

@Pauly yeah i got mine from the US via their company (them yankee web sites are something else i tell ya o_O). The killer was the freight from FEDex which was like $60-70 but the total cost was less than from over here.....and it took 7 days to get to my door, and I am at the end of the line for deliveries out here in the sticks.

The mx1.3 is the go as you can input some gauges not available in the EM plus such as Auto Trans Temp and the preprogramming I requested for the Ranger was 'Ford with CAN 2008+'. If you get one and need some gauge setup figures let me know. Im still needing time to have a good play with it and get it setup properly but as it is will do me for the first trip

@Laneway nice Ranger! I'm interested about your UltraGauge setup, in particular the trans temp. I have a 2012 BT50 3.2L auto and was wondering if the code will work for my car too.
Precise Auto sells these units and might consider getting one (MX1.3 instead of Em plus right?). BTW, how did you get your tyre pressure indications? Did it come with TPS or did you have to purchase these separate? Thanks in advance
Cheers
