VIC Lake Eppalock - Where to stay?

Gang,

We're up in Heathcote in a few weeks for a car meet and thinking of making a weekend of it. Was wondering if anyone had any good tips/sites for where to stay in and around Lake Eppalock? Doesn't have to be a caravan park, free camping is fine.

Anyone got any hot tips?

Yes we did .
Can't remember the name of the park , I'll have to search my posts , it was ok for an overnighter and mostly onsite vans but it was right on the water .
Would I go again ? Probably not .
Music and people talking all night not much for the kids to do no pool ,jumping pillow but there is a remote car track that looked ok if you have one .
Toilets were clean and if you like fishing or water skiing you'd be right but it just seemed one of those parks that everyone
Knows each other and would be noisy at night during peak times .

Thanks for the info @mfexpanda... we're there in non-descript weekend so hopefully wouldn't be too busy...

But more interested in a possible "off grid" location if someone knew one. All else fails, yep, we'd probably book in at one of the parks.
