Well after waiting 4 months so far for my Jeep I am finally picking it up next week.
Had issues along the way though.
I have been tracking the build of my car via the Jeep Garage forums. Anyway, it appears that my car failed QC off the production line back in early July.
At this point in time it is still at the factory with no timeframe for delivery. It would have arrived off the ship here yesterday if not for the issues it has.

So to cut a long story short I cancelled the order for mine and managed to locate another one (same spec and colour) in Queensland.
It is being trucked down tomorrow.

Here are some shots the dealer sent me.
Can't wait to collect it......

Cheers,
Matty

very nice! I had it on the short listed for us too before getting the d4
I don't blame for cancelling the other order. I wouldn't be too eager to one if I knew it failed QC.
A flight up to QLD and leisurely drive back couldn't be done????

It's here....
All tucked up in my garage. I have an appointment on Friday with Vicroads to get it registered.
It's killing me having it sit there and not be able to drive it yet, legally.

That did seriously cross my mind, however I didn't want to run it in by running at constant speed for hours on end.
I would've had to take my youngest son with me as I promised him next car I bought interstate he could come for the roadtrip. (I bought the Volvo in Sydney and my oldest son begged me to take him up and drive back with me)

The freight cost was pretty much the same as 2 flights, accom, food, fuel etc.

Hi Matty,

Great looking Jeep. You will not be disappointed. I've had my Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo diesel since April this year and am more than happy. It has over 12,000kms, and is such a great car to drive. Around town I'm seeing 9.5l/100km and towing my Expanda 16.49-1 from Melbourne to Canberra cruising on 110km, it was 13.5l/100kms. It has heaps of get up and go.

Enjoy!!

Cheers

Saw one just like your one the other in Ceduna just before we hit the Nullabor. It was pulling a Jayco Sterling, bloody huge van, but looked impressive.

I also have this on my short list but I'm worried about how it would tackle the outback tracks like the Oodnadatta and the like. I guess as long as I change e suspension and put on better rubber then it may still be a possibility. The better half loves them! I'm tossing up between the Prado and the Ranger XLT.

Had the towbar fitted on Friday, having my P3 and Redarc VSR fitted on Wednesday.
Lovin' it so far, haven't towed with it yet though, but it will have no issues there.
With only 1700k's on it so far it's averaging 9.5lt/100. It's nice filling up and seeing a DTE of 930k's............haha.

Dazz,
here's one of a member on JeepGarage.org...2" lift and BFG AT's, it'll tackle anything.

congrats Matty, brilliant looking machine. Test drove one on the weekend. This is on top of my shortlist at the moment - so much grunt compared to the Territory diesel, and at least as refined. Dealer is quoting me $52.5 driveaway for the diesel Laredo which is great value and about the same as the Territory Diesel and the auto VW Amarok which I am also considering. Grateful for any pros and cons from your experience - any QA issues? THanks mate

My last 2 cars were Territories, excellent tow vehicles, if a little thirsty. My last Terri was a turbo petrol with a chip and put out over 300kw and over 600nm, but drank like a fish when towing.
The new Terri diesel, IMO, is too old and slow for my liking. 140kw and 440nm isn't enough (for me, others will find it acceptable). The Jeep with 177kw and 550nm closes the gap between my old Terri.
With a diesel tune I can get 232kw and 647nm.......woohoo.

Haven't had any issues so far other than the Satnav getting itself lost, but if you're looking at the Laredo that won't be an issue.
So far, I'm loving it...
