Can't really help you out too much as I don't have one. However, purely out of curiosity I did drop past and have a look through one and I reckon they would be great, although I am still not sold on the look of the back end. My old man bought the new Isuzu D-Max about 9 months ago and it is an awesome truck, so if this is built on the same chassis and with the same quality I think it will be a winner. The MU-X is the same car as the Holden Colorado 7, I think both offer slightly different varients, inclusions and of course price.

IMO you can't go past a Prado though :behindsofa:, however I am biased! ;)

That was my thinking, it would have to be one tough truck, I'm not overly fussed on the back either, but with starting prices of $40k I could probably ignore it, if I go the prado that means I have to,work harder to pay the difference

my humble and honest opinion (3 months wait cause they sold the 5 they brought in....?)

go with the Prado - Toymota have a rather large dealer & supply network Aust wide (remember I'm a Patrol man - praising Toymota is tantamount to treason)
spare parts, after market accessories, Dealer Servicing, most bits interchangeable with Hilux, plus their really not THAT bad the Prado's.

nuff said from my corner..........

cheers

the other thing about the Playdo's, you dont have to get the top of the wazzah version either

my sister has the base model, and it goes the same as her mates thats the Kakadu version...... ok, it has leather, and 2 zone aircon, and.....

but, go for what you can realistically afford to lease and run.

cheers

Toyota is the only manufacturer that still maintains realistic towing capacities and doesn't let the marketing people set them to sell more?

Yep your probably right there, and to be honest I thing the Pajero's (NT model on) tow rate is a un-realistic, though rated at 3000kg anthing above 2500kg its ball weight drops. so 2500kg would be more realistic. While it little brother (Challenger) with smaller engine is also rated at 3000kg/300kg ball, simply because it has full chassis.
there is just so many big vans out here now that their "tare" weights are almost the same as some tow vehicles "MAX" tow weights. and people need to be mindfull of that

Getting a little of track me thinks  :focus:

It must be costing them a lot in sales. I cant even consider a Hilux while it has such low towing figures in my opinion. Sorry but I want a car I can insure for towing the van I want. :car:

I just got back from Thailand yesterday, we hired a MU-X late 90's early 00's they have been around for years, it was huge!!
Up side is you could buy 2 of them for the price of a Prado, bugger it just buy a Jeep and don't look back :)

Just ordered a MU-X. 8 week wait, but am sure it will tow the van well. After having a Holden Captiva which did not do the job. Isuzu has a great name. And to get top of the line LS-T with Towbar and a few other extras for $49,990 drive away, its a bargain. Looking fwd to towing van when it arrives will keep you posted on how it goes.

Had a 07 Expanda, served us well, but was never happy with the canvas bed ends. Have upgraded to a 2010 Paramount Duet, very happy with it, cant wait to get it behind the MU-X.
