Congrats @seanparky, want to upgrade my current van to 17.56.2. touring, you've got me thinking on preloved, a lot of people buy vans new and find that caravanning is not for them so they sell them 12 months on. Happy vanning :)

Finally took her out for our first trial run. Still don't have stabaliser bars as yet but is quite level, still slopes up a tad but toes fine. Found a slight water leak when hooked up to mains. All sorted now tho. Have a few preventative maintenance ideas to add to the to do list. Bit disappointed tho when i rolled out the awning and popped the lid to find some mould on the roof seal and awning. Time for a big scrub in the morning. Unfortunately it was left in the rain for a couple of weeks as every time i tried to put cover on it rained. Definitely looking forward to the next adventure.

Sat on 90km/hr holden man. Went like a dream, made an extra 100km per tank by not sitting on 100km/hr. Just got a new lens for my camera so definitely pics next trip as i forgot the camera. Too busy making sure i had the van sorted out.

Hi guys been awhile since i was on here. Just an update. Finally got a new haymen reece tow bar and WDH bars fitted. Had to fill both water tanks and throw what i could think we would take except food to try and get the weight right.. 205kg on the ball is that ok??
What a difference it makes with tanks full felt heavier thats for sure but with the WDH felt fine. You can actually see it lift up the rear of the prado. Because of it being an outback and jayco putting to hitch on the bottom of draw bar had to get a 30mm drop shank to make it level.. knew i should have got a 50mm spacer. Was told if i do get a spacer be a good idea to also get a 2"lift in the rear of prado aswell to keep it level. The tow bar is a monster and a shin breaker so have taken off and put in the van until i need it. Especially with kids running around the car at home. ( don't need a trip to the hospital). Have been slack with mods but slowly gearing the van up with things I'm going to need. Just bought a new tv for the van, got my led light strips and remote for the awning. Going to do the mods when i get to mildura and borrow the old mans shed and tools when i get there. I promise once they are done will post pics but going to be a slow process. Actually scared of doing to much because of the weight factor. Not sure what I'm allowed to carry. All numbers to me. Might have to take into a dealer in mildura and find out.

As this is my first year with the van i should be ready next year if there is another meet. would be great to catch up and meet other people with expands. I haven't even looked at my electrics yet. slack i know but all my tools are in SA.

My first two modifications, pretty mush the same as everyone else. An automated fridge light with sensor from Bunnings. Another i mounted on the floor to see how this goes with kids getting up in the middle of the night going to the toilet. Saves them fumbling around in the dark waking me up. I love my sleep and hate being woken up..lol. If ok I've got another plan for a sensor with a timer that will turn on a red light that will light up the door step and toilet entrance.

Well tomorrow our first big trip starts. Since its our first time it has taken all day to pack and work out what goes where. Hope next time it's quicker. If it was up to me I'd just grab everything and throw it in. Will keep you posted with our trip. Probably start a different thread

Well we made it to Mildura.(Bloody cold here) The Van towed smoothly, no real dramas even tho i thought i had a hot wheel bearing but turned out to be a sticky brake. As a bloke who is use to camping, roughing it and whatever nature throws at him was very entertaining watching the family try and gel together as a team. My plan is working..lol. Was actually quite nice as we all played a game of UNO and had a good night. Hardest part was telling the kids to still still while trying to cook, if one wants to move the other has to sit. With 5 people in the van not really much room.
The bed was awesome had the best sleep. Really recommend the egg shell mattress. Did my first modification of a remote controlled led Awning light strip. Will do the sensor light later but will keep you posted @Holden_man
