Welcome to the forum, the new model looks great. Looking forward to the solutions with tow height as I have the same model van just a 2012 and have the same issues as I have a patrol with a lift, all I have done for the time being is bought a longer hitch off eBay to level it out but still looking for better solution. Anyway enjoy the forum and your new van as I know we absolutely love ours.
Cheers Jason.

Ive got her going in and welding a 10mm plate on top of the chassis, ill then move the hitch to on top and remove the piece of steel sticking down in front of the handbrake.

Looks good mate, is that your solar reg above lounge? Remember to drill your holes in plate for hitch before its welded on!

Cheers.

Welcome to the forum Danniel.

Jayco Canberra used to sell 50mm hitch spacers. Won't solve you problem completely, but will help level things out. I have a longer drop tongue on my BT (that has a 2 inch lift), and the hitch spacer on my van.

I understand your pain though, and really the only way to get more ground clearance is to undersling the axle. I consider this option often as i have a habbit of getting caught up on the sparewheel, drawbar, rear bar. I wish the van sat about 75mm higher.

Got a 10 mm plate and welded to the top of the draw bar. Put my standard draw bar on and it all sits nice and level now

Need to put a cover on those damn battery and hot water system switch's unless you like turning them off all the time when you knock them getting off the lounge.

Nice job mate, did you have to modify the handbrake lever or does it still work ok?
No. Just bolted the unit on the plate. the hand brake lever now sits protected above the original plate. Just going to cut off the old plate sticking straight down that used to protect it.

Hey Skippy. Tried that, it does sit level, but its an offroad van and an offroad truck, with on road clearance????? The tongue bottoms out in creeks etc.

Isn't there a regulation where the centre of the ball has to be a certain height of the ground? From memory it's not a lot.

460mm is the magic number but if you read the regulations it is a 'recommendation'. Very few 4WD vehicles with off-road vans can fit within this spec. I believe that with 'Treg' hitches and the like, the rules don't apply.
