Hi Alan, check out Swansea caravan park, situated south of Newcastle on lake macquarie. Top spot, waterfront will put you infront of sand flats or you can go out the front of park and fish in the channel. Very popular spot so I would book in advance.

Cheers.

You'll be OK, Andrea. Coming to check out our Spring Fashions I suspect. Here's a sample!

Oh that's NICE!!!! with your day time temps down there I might be needing one of those! No real spring fashions I'm affraid. I get to look at the inside walls of an office block on Burke street for a few days, then off to visit a few clients along the GOR (looking forward to seeing the sights along here). The boys are set though. It's AFL Grand final week and they are in paradise. Pity I don't know any Pies, Swans, Crows, or Hawk Members (pending next week's matches) to get them tickets. Brisbane Lion's allocations were in packages only and I'm not paying $1500 for an 8 year old to watch 2.5 hours of football! They're off to the MCG/Hall of Fame, federation square, Sherrin factory outlet (like I need more footballs in our house. I think our 2 year old has 7 or 8 now) and Grand Final Parade. If we can't get tickets to the GF, do any of you know if it's worth watching it in Federation Square?

Some great trips to be had this holidays it seems! I hope we are all lucky enough to get some nice weather!

Andrea, sounds like your boys are going to have a terrific time. Hope the weather really does the right thing by you. Sorry can't help with tickets but the big screen in Fed Square will give you a good taste of the GF atmosphere and you'll probably hear the crowd from there. There's also ACMI (the Australian Centre for the Moving Image) at Fed Square (free admission) which the boys might like to visit.

Hey Paul was around this time last year when we were in Beechworth stayed at Lake Sambell Caravan Park highly recommend it, easy walk to town, allows camp fires. Make sure you vist the honey shop and Beechworth Bakery.

This time we are off to the red dust of Outback NSW

Safe travels
Thats where we are staying too!!

No worries, you run a (or is it 'the') servo right?

You'll spot me easy, once was white 16.49 OB and once was silver NP Paj (with blue on white number plates)...but don't assume we're the same as those other white on blue lot...no need to give us a wide berh!

Thats right it is THEEE servo / tyres / mechanical shop in Loby ....

Blacksmiths NSW
As Burnsy said Swansea or Blacksmiths both are good parks, Blacksmiths is on the beach and 100m from Swansea channel, but there is no pool for the kids. Swansea caravan park is on the channel and has a pool, short walk to the pub, bowlo, workers club and shops, also a good bike track next to the park. Fishing is just starting to come good at the moment, bring some small squid jigs as there is a few around.

there is also Belmont pines, surrounded on three sides by water, quite a small park but great, be suprised if you could get in at late notice. across the otherside there is Wangi which is a quieter area and might be a beetr chance at such late notice.

I also heard blacksmiths is sand fly heaven but havent stayed there my self.

I'll take those on board too - heading up to Newcastle over new years and on to the lakes (now we've decided I need to book).

Andrea - sorry, I'm a Swans fan and struggling to get any tix for myself......

Felt guilty reading all replies to Bushman's challenge to get out there so we've booked into Big4 at Moama for a few days from 1st October. Chance to try out the mods adopted from members on this forum and see how the Pathie goes with the chip. Hoping for some of that beautiful NSW weather you boast about. If it doesn't eventuate I can just walk back to Victoria.

I heard it will be 27 degrees on Sunday on the NSW Central coast. Not sure about Moama though...

We'll do our best.

Bushman, were you travelling north on the Newell? If you did we would have passed you on our way south! We did see a few pandas :)
