They are all great points relgate. I will practice my angry between now and the next trip..... The main thing I guess is as you stated, filling a the small gas bottle. Do you wait till its empty or do you fill it with a third to go just so you don't run out. Do you have any idea how long the maximum length of hose is? Also, I signed off on our van last week, so I guess it would be too late to add in now?

I wait till empty then refill. Even on a 7 day trip I don't go through a whole bottle, so it seems to last a long time.

My understanding is that 3m is the max length.

Keep working on the angry. Another tactic I use is to carefully show everyone the correct technique for cooking and cleaning on my bbq. That seems to scare them too!

I started the original thread. $450 did include recert. How ever since using our panda frequently the last few months, I've decided against fitting the bayonet. I carry an extra 4.5kg gas bottle which I prefer as it gives me the freedom to set up my webber wherevever I want as I find the awning a bit small. However if I had of brought a new panda I would go for the bayonet fitting just to give me the option if I wanted it. But for now I'm just happy getting out and about.

I have just been quoted $350 dollars for a second gas bayonet fitted to my new 2012 Jayco Expanda 16.49.1.....
After reading this thread I am worried I have been taken for a ride on other additions. I have put a deposit on this rig through Caravanland in Perth. I live in Port Hedland so I have had to sort it all out over the phone.

Ouch. Is that the dealer quoting $350?

Welcome Clayton. Not sure how big port Headland is, but my brother lives up there also. Probably you have something to do with the mines also no doubt.
such a rip off and if you have other options, then get a second quote.

$350 could go to something more useful. I use a squat 4.5kg bottle for the Weber BabyQ. Doesn't take much space. You could even go smaller bottle as a Weber is pretty easy on the gas.

Yep dealer quoted. I actually just spoke to a gas fitter here in Hedland and he quoted me 500 to do it and get this he also quoted me to do one at the back as well and for both he wants $2000. I don't think he wanted the job. I have 2 x 9kg bottles already installed don't really want to carry a third on loose.

Yeah I agree but we got this new 2012 model off the dealer floor for -$2000 plus free stereo, inside and outside speakers and a second 9kg gas bottle fitted free. We were in a rush to get one for our Coral Bay trip in June.
