Yeah, I agree bigcol what's the worst that can happen? They can sack him and he can find out the address of the car owner and come around one night with a few mates and talk the matter over with him/you.

Some years ago we noticed a loaded truck along side of our Depot side fence and didn't like what we saw. It had a very mixed load with LPG and various oxy/Acetylene cylinders ready to take to a remote area. Took some pictures and spoke to WorkHealth as to legality of the load and they asked to see the pictures. We sent them as we were assured that they wouldn't be sent to the truck owner. Some hours later we had a very angry truck driver storm in to our office that had seen our pictures. He eventually left but wasn't in the best of mood.

I sent some pictures Friday to our local power provider as I thought it was wrong that their linesman were working standing on top of the EWP basket without being tied in, not worried if he decides to drop in, it is in the communities best interests for people to follow the rules. The same in @bigman0510 's case, he might have only been looking for coin, but still should not have been in there.

Funny story,
I had to get some new tyres for the cruiser today, I decided to install my new dash cam last night. The dash cam has 2 cameras, one facing forward and one to the rear. Anyway, I was going through the footage when I got home to see how good it was and noticed that I received a free service with my new tyres.. Lucky me!
Nothing was taken, but it has given me some ideas for when we go back for the free rotation!!
Hope you went back and showed them the footage! I would. I wander if he had found something of value and what he has taken from others. Should/must lose his job. My son owns a garage and fired an employee on the spot when discovered doing this.

just received a call from the actual dealer.

"I spoke to him, he was looking for a pen, he jumped in and forgot that he didn't have his pen."

hmmm, but the video before the one I sent you shows that he was already writing on the pad

"I have never had a complaint and he has been with me for 3 years"

Maybe nobody has had a dash cam with a rear facing camera before?

"yeah, so he was looking for a pen that's all, I spoke to him and he said that's what it was"

Ok, whatever. Hopefully he remembers his pen in the future.

"I am the owner here, so I'd appreciated if you would come to me first with a complaint not head office, this is not a franchise store"

Yeah mate, no worries.......

I don't think I will be going back there anyway.....

Horrible customer service!

I would even consider forwarding his response to head office, especially about him trying to divert feedback direct to him.

*Try posting a bit more so your post isn't boring*. That is unacceptable, especially since you could show he was already writing. Above that, he still does not have the right to go through your car looking for a pen, if he forgot his pen, then he gets out and goes to get one.

From my very basic Privacy Policy education, it is illegal to covertly monitor someone without adequate warning. But a simple "this car is monitored for security purposes" is sufficient in most instances. But I can't see how you having surveillance equipment contravenes their Privacy Policy in a legal sense. It doesn't mean you can monitor them and post their images online for fun, but you do have a right to monitor what is yours.

I'm happy to be corrected, given I'm no lawyer. What would their position be if you wanted to just stand and watch them work?

Sorry but dash cams are a fact these days. Likewise they are right in front of you. SimPle, don't so the wrong thing and no issues. I would be simply going elsewhere.

Besides, it isn't a small investment (our vehicles) so why can't you protect what is yours. Do they have signs up as you go in saying you will be recorded? If so they are simply hypocrites in my opinion.

BJ.
