Our first service is free as I thought all first ones were ????? All 4 of ours have been free on our 4 vans.
Depends on the dealer according to bossman, we give free first service, but a lot of dealers with non local buyers won't as they don't come back .......

The bill only listed first service. Made no mention of the warranty work although they had listed it all on their computer (probably to claim back from Jayco). I gave them a written list. As far as I can see they did everything except fill 2 gaps in the underbody floor. I can easily do that and it is probably the way all the StarCraft vans are built. The work done was neat and clean and the bloke who did the work took us thru what he had done. So far all good.

Nup $350 first time. ..dealer said it would be minor. Didn't cost that much for the 100k service for the cruiser and it had fluids and filters replaced.

Hi @GCMASOS, just started to follow your post, as others have stated wouldn't worry about being too picky. In your list your number 1 item is a LED light not working at delivery, coupled with the rest of the list makes you wonder if they bothered to pre deliver the van at all or whether the annex was just shot through the door and left on the floor there you go. Sounds like the dealer is most of the problem. I had a similar experience with our current van (not jayco) we are currently looking to up grade to a 17.56.2. There were a lot of things wrong with our current van that should have been dealt with at pre delivery. The experience was such that we will avoid a new build like the plague, happy to find a dealer stock van close to what we are looking for and purchase. At least then we can look, open and close things etc. I have never heard of anyone being charged for their first service. Maybe the next time you speak to the service manager it might be a good idea to remind him that you work equally as hard for your money as he does and after having spent 60k of your hard earned dollars with his dealership its not something you have planned to inconvenience him. Gently remind him that your new 60k van is sitting in his service yard taking up his precious space because a long list of things that need fixing, and the reality is that these things should have been dealt with prior to delivery. At least with Jayco warranty you can take the van to another dealer if there not capable of fixing the problems.
Good luck with your warranty claim
Regards TerriD

sometimes the pre delivery doesn't pick these items up as faulty, i don't know how many times i've had to fix something in the hand over bay that was working fine the day/week before, most times it's a loose wire that gets bumped around from moving the van and don't get me started on fridges, seems they stop whenever they go in that bay, not trying to make excuses but we have told the boss time and time again to pass these issues back to jayco HQ, but it's how jayco works, they can either slow production (increased wait for your new van) or let the dealers fix it and keep pumping them out flat out, so more vans means more profit

on the subject of fridges @DaveS, have you ever had to fix the freezer door in a 150l fridge/freezer?? (this is the little door inside the fridge)
mine doesn't swing back up anymore??
only closes up when the main door closes, but isn't staying fully closed..
obviously a spring or something has gone.. is this an easy fix..
just out of warranty of course..

sorry to hi-jack this thread

thanks, I'm going to start dis-assembling the internal door tonight.. if anyone has already done this, let us know of any short-cuts/hints to get it sorted..
i assume you mean the freezer door on a single door fridge .... if so they can be a bit fiddly
on the bottom edge of the door there is a couple of screws from memory, take these out and the door should come off the spring hinges, you will probably need to buy some more as they break.

my method of putting them back in is to put them in place on the hinge pin, but don't locate the spring pin into place, leave it out as far forward as it will go, screw them to door, then close the door, then push the pin around with a thin screwdriver on the side until the spring pin locks into place ...... kinda hard to describe, but it's the easiest method i've found of putting decent tension on the door
