Listed below is the list of things we found wrong or not right with our 21.64-1.

1. LED light on roof above the sink is only half working. (wasn't working on delivery)
2. Tape sealing the shower to the roof is coming off.
3. Bottom bunk surround coming off , insufficient fixing
4. Edging tape below the stove on the bottom cupboard door is coming off.
5. A screw cover is missing between the fridge and the slide out.
6. Silicone in the sink around the plug hole is coming out.
7. Dinette top cushion not attached correctly, you can see the brackets through the gap. (Fridge side worse than other side)
8. Dinette table converter does not fit correctly, seems too big. (worse when slide out is out)
9. Edging under the cushion on the left hand side of the dinette coming off.
10. Water pressure on mains is very poor in the shower.
11. Screw holding on the front storage door hinge was not fixed correctly, second time I opened the door the screw fell out and the hinge became loose.
12. overhead cupboard closest to bunks over stove catches on trimming
13. two of the cupboards (middle and right) over the dinette do not latch shut properly.
14. hole in the left side wall just above lounge ( was present on delivery )
15. Annex bags were left on the floor on delivery, when we removed them the permanent marker from the bag tags had left an imprint on the floor. we would like this removed.

Are we being to fussy or is this standard. Not bagging Jayco, but when you spend $60k plus on a product you expect it to be finished correctly.

Thoughts...

Thats standard, thats only a small list compared to mine, for my third visit I had 33 items on the list & the previous two visits weren't much better & I know it still has to go back again for a fourth visit to complete the list....

Never feel guilty or petty about adding things to your list, I asked the service guy for an honest opinion if i'm too picky & he said no for the majority of things listed, they are genuine faults. They also admitted that mine has an unusually large number of faults, none of the faults are new to them just not all on one van.

You only have 12 months on workmanship, so hit them as hard as you can for as many items as you can

Not petty at all. We spend big money on a product and so we should have high expectations for a good product. I am as picky as they come so Jayco won't know what hit them if they deliver us with a substandard van!

Why do they not put a rubber seal under the sink plug. Silicon is always going to leak eventually. It cost me a whole 20 cents to buy a rubber seal, angst and damage to the brand for 20 cents seems so dumb.

Showed my wife she is more picky then me. So I hope we do not end up with a big list in May as well.
Good Jayco fixes stuff when we brought our new home we had to go back and back again.
Painting was crap, they did not even sand down some doors before they painted.
The guy from the company was well you can only see it if you do not look straight on so why are you complaining.
Reason why I brought a Jayco instead of a Avan we nearly brought, yes Jayco seems to have long lists and QC seems very lacking compared to higher end companies. Although I have not read threads about them not fixing things.

thanks Pace as I said the fact I have not seen anywhere that they do not fix things pushed me back into the Jayco.
Read some horror stories on the net.
Don't worry mate, I've read some horror stories about a lot of makes not just Jayco's.

Most of my stuff has just been little minor stuff and fixed it myself instead of organising a trip to the repairer!

Hi
don't think your getting picky, from our side we get paid the same if it's one item or 100 (pretty poor pay too), and we claim warranty back on jayco hq anyway. the only drama we have is we can't fix everything in the time you allow us, some parts we have to order and that can take a few days or we might like the van to sit overnight to let slas cure otherwise it can look a bit shitty. can't speak for the other dealers, but on a first service/warranty job we go over the van pretty thorough anyway and find things the customer missed :)

Its good to know that there is dealers out therr that woukd do that. We have heard nothing but bad reports about our so fingees crossed they will get it sorted. I am a carpenter and knowing that customers expect high standards is a given. I expect the same standard.

Your list doesn't seem too dramatic although disappointing when you have paid so much money. Tell the dealer what you want fixed and check that they do the work before driving your van home after the service. We have our new StarCraft going back next week for its first service. We have already discussed with the dealer what has to be fixed and so far they are very supportive.

So far our latest Starcraft doesn't have as many manufacturing faults as our previous Discovery. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Had to ring to see if it was ready...the service guy said i don't want your van here for too long as it will take up to much room. Don't you hate it when your such an inconvenience....no sorry for the delay. waiting for someone to come and have a look at the floor...the guy works between brisbane and coffs harbour....might be a new floor yet. Anyone had a similar experience.

In our previous Sterling we had a smear of silicone on the floor and really if you didn't know it was there you wouldn't even see it, but I knew it was there. I was too scared to try anything on it myself to try and remove it so mentioned it at the first service. Their solution was to replace the whole floor! I asked how this would be done and they said they would have to remove the cupboards to get the vinyl off, replace the vinyl and then put everything back in. We made the decision not to do that as I would not have like everything pulled out and damaged and possibly not go back into place.
It can depend which floor you have as older vans they could cut out the damaged section and replace the square that they have taken out, not replaced the whole floor.
Maybe they could try some Methylated spirits on it very careful and see if that can lift it.

BTW the silicone never came off (but I didn't try). It was covered up with a mat as it was just near the sink.

I would be asking what they intend to do to replace the floor.

Just had our first service. $220. Several warranty issues all fixed. All work neatly and cleanly completed. Currently sitting at Barwon Heads CP for a few days. Could not see the point of putting the van away after going to the trouble of taking off the cover and towing back and forward to the dealer. Also able to test the work done. Now awaiting for the 30 knot SW change.

Just curious. ..did they itemize the service...mine cost $350 and no record of work done.
Some of our items were not completed. Still at a stalemate about the floor. Dealer blaming the annex manufacturer. ..
