Awesome we haven't stayed there but your girls must love its proximity to Harbourtown @Peter Black .........LOL we will work something out as you get closer to coming up....Sounds Great!
Noosa then Broadwater for us. Stayed at T reassure Island before when children were younger, great family park, you will love it. My sons are now teenagers and Hubby and sons "need" to be close to the water to kite surf. BUT I can do Harbour Town while they are surfing. A good holiday is had by all!It's just greedy van parks trying to rip people of with price, because they can. The parks are full and then they still complain about people free camping or the local school P&C renting out it's oval to a motor home club who would never fit into a caravan park anyway.
I'm off to the USA in Sept holidays and can stay in top class hotels for less than what most big van parks charge for a slab (concrete type) and a power point.

There is one in Sydney but its a bugger to get your van under.
Free camping is the go or stay home. Not getting tricked into paying excessive amounts $. Last three day weekend in Victoria I enjoyed 2 free camp areas. The first camp I did share with one other person but was not camped close enough to say hello. The 2 nd all to our selfs.

Didn't they build a 3 lane caravan park under that bridge?? Just a little dark and no view.
Cowwarr weir. Must be self contained no tents allowed (must have waste tank fitted on van ) excellent spot (that's were I took the photo you see) and then stayed @Newry footy grounds. We were there as there was a function on in the footy rooms but it is a free camping area. Cheers Marty

big 4 gold coast holiday park, just looked at our receipt and it averages out at $76 a night. .Over the 10 nights, price varies between $69 to $78 to $88 for 4 nights over easter. The second week of nsw school hols is cheapest at $69 a night. We did get a $40 big 4 member discount. Barney
no secrets. big4 gold coast holiday park. It was a lot cheaper than treasure island, which was going to be our first choice, but we couldn't get in there on a few of the dates we wanted, and this place is only minutes from the theme parks, which is the purpose of this trip with the kids. Barney

Guys the pick of the Gold Coast parks are Tallebudgera & Southport(Broadwater) both have had big dollars spent on them and new management in with a family focus. Having said that people generally pick the park to suit their lifestyle and what they want to do with their time ie relax or explore.
Guys @barney120 @Dede if you are staying opposite the theme parks on the highway just ensure you lock everything up. That park has had some issues as across the road is, lets say an "interesting" residential area of the gold coast......
Woo hooo I get to spend Easter in Shanghai AGAIN!!! this will be the 8th year in a row, bloody China doesn't recognise Easter because thay don't have to bustards, oh well saves me a few dollars I guess.
