Ahh damn glass fuses. The japs still use them on UHFs. Is there any advantage to them? Was going to tidy my drifter battery wiring up and use a blade fuse.

Also surly the drifter must be able to work out the draw approx without having to cycle a battery? I am not too fussed on it be perfect to the minute as with two 100ah batteries it seems it would take ages to cycle the way we use 12v

I went away for 2 weeks free camping and didn’t even get below half on the drifter. I have one 250 solar panel and two 100amp hour batteries. I reckon you could get away with only having one battery these days because everything is LED and chooses no power compared to the old festoon globes.

I've had half an eye on this thread. I just checked my drifter's settings and the battery is set to 80AH. I have 2 100AH batteries.
Before I change it, my question is, Why is it on 80 if the default (according to the manual) is 100?
Shall I just change it to 200 and walk away?

Whilst we are on this subject, i have noticed a bundle of wires that dont appear to be connected to anything sitting next to the toilet cassette.

Does anyone know if these go back to the drifta panel ?

I would have thought Jayco would have connected the toilet tank as standard........but then again, no, they wouldnt would they ??

If the wiring is already there, it seems like a reasonably simply job to fit the senders into the tank.

80ah is just the factory setting. Bear in mind, these are not just made for Jayco.
They are imported so would have been just what they decided at the time of manufacture as the default setting.

In saying that, if you have the drifter and the battery supplied by Jayco, then yes, they should be setting it correctly.

in regards to your water tank, is the valve switched to both tanks or just one at a time. silly question I know

I was at a NSW caravan park a couple of weeks back and this guy was bagging his expanda for water usage " two water tanks and I get one shower " and "jayco piece of cr.." was thrown around, but then when I started to ask more questions it turned out he did not have this valve switched to both tanks and of course was using the one tank way too quickly- then although the old dude would not admit it I think he was very happy to know of this valve.

my drifter works great

;)Never a silly question on this Forum @BMC004
This valve can run both tanks at once with the arrow in the middle or one tank at a time with the arrow pointing at the relevant pipe/tanks.

Mine was at first only on the front tank but when I went out to check I switch it to both with no luck then only to the rear and still no luck then after some investigation it was empty but still showing full .
