Here is a photo of us camped at the Cumberland River Park just over two years ago, right on the edge of the river.

Anyone there yesterday would be floating in the ocean today. You can’t help feeling sorry those poor buggers, watching caravans and cars floating away and you can‘t do a damned thing about it. I hope none of our members were involved.

It was astounding to see the footage on Sky ......Really felt for those poor buggas ..... after the Lockyer Floods I'm always wary of camping in the foothills as no chance of a warning ....

When we camp at Bingara and other NSW river side camps I use this website https://waterinsights.waternsw.com.au/Waterinsights to keep an eye on levels upstream and have a message sent to me of levels rise above a certain height at a station upstream ... works well, not as handy as the old app they had but still ok............... When we camped out on the Darling we could watch the flood water coming down from QLD so knew if we had to leave earlier than planned ... we left and 5 days later the water turned up...
