Its 4 years today since I drove the BT50 out of the showroom. So far its taken us on countless adventures to every state in Australia apart from Tassie and some states multiple times. Just this year it was back to QLD (Cairns) for a second time and 2 more separate trips to NSW

The most memorable trip was our 10 week trip last year up the centre through the Kimberly's and down the west coast.

A bit of another update on the BT. I fitted a second awning on the drivers side. It is 2m long and 2.5m out so that it doesn't foul on the snorkel.
It is the new ARB design with a slightly bulkier bag.

I mounted it with the same Rhino Fox Wing mounting kit as I like the structural integrity of it.
This was from the weekend High Country day trip. I keep the awnings low too.

Very flexible set up.....should be called 'The Tardis'.....@drover might transfer the naming rights.

Is that 4wdsupercentre gear?

We're currently cutting down one of their awning walls to make a storm cover and I'm impressed with the water protection they give....and lightweight as well.

Hey @Dobbie they are both Arb awnings and the wall is also Arb.

I have had one of the Arb awnings for maybe 8 years soI matched it up with another although its there new design.

I have a wall for the second awning for those raining trips which is a Kings one but it will need to be modified as its way to long from the awning to the ground.

Send the cut off bit to me as I'm a tad short in my storm cover calculations!

Yet another digression.....o_O....at least I'm consistent.....

Our design and making of the storm covers is going remarkably well, thanks to some help I've got from members here. We're using the plastic sail track (sourced from Paskal as recommended), the sikaflex 291 (again, as recommended), Kedar rope track and the cut down awning side walls. The only problem is getting the sikaflex off the hands as we accidentally bought black.....we hope it wears off as turps and similar doesn't move it. But it sticks the sail track beautifully...no screws or rivets! So far.

That ARB gear is probably better quality than the super centre stuff....and my six year old ARB awning is starting to show signs of wear, and the plastic roll up clips are broken. I've replaced it with a bungee. There weren't many others on the market when I got my awning and the prices have certainly dropped.

I just looked back at your photos and can now see it's the new ARB model.....is it an improvement?
