Clearview mirrors alternative?

Went through the same justification process @willobee (Scottish blood in me!!).....

I did the same @willobee with the Clearviews - took me 4 years to pluck up the courage to buy them

I wished I'd stuck the original plan of buying the Clearviews, the local RV dealer talked me into the no name brand mirrors.
With in 6 months of buying them, tiny spots started appearing in the chrome, now 2 yrs down the track I can see the copper plating under the chrome reacting with moisture, looks like they forgot the nickle plating in between the copper & chrome plating
I just polish them with liquid Autosol to keep them pretty.
I was going to take them back, but just got bit slack, well the electrics haven't failed, all good there.
I,d probably paint them or get them wrapped in the future.

I am so over my truck mirrors, work well while travelling but fitting them up is a big pain, I wish I had bought that set of Clearviews on here when they were for sale, Scots blood came to surface, the Ebay jiggers look good think I will take the plunge......now need an address...

They are good & take a little time to get use to,
I spent a bit of time setting up the bottom mirrors & now can see 3 lanes of traffic right up to the C pillar, that blind spot is gone.

Always said mirrors are for reversing why do you want to see where youv'e been, you might miss the truck thats going to hit you..................a young fella quoted me to his licence tester once, when it was pointed out he didn't look in his mirrors enough, he still got his truck licence......
You see enough D...heat drivers in front of you without seeing the ones behind
Not wanting to put adampener on the replacement mirrors topic, but how does it work with your insurance company by replacing the vehicle mirrors that are supplied? Especially the convex mirror on the left hand side?
We have only ever used extra mirrors attached to original, they seem to work well for us!

Ours did as well for a time. We tried three separate types with the millenco ones being the best of them but they still wobbled and screws became loose.
It got to the point where they had to be checked every time we stopped..not just every day...and tightened up or they'd have fallen off. Not the clips to the car but the glass mirrors themselves.
So we bit the financial bullet and got the Clearviews. They're great for towing but a pain when not towing. You have to be wary of tight parking spots.
That car is used mainly for towing so doesn't do much around town as I hate parking it!
I'm not sure how good the clearview alternatives are but I'm sure some have tried them and found they are fine....and a bit less expensive.
We'll stick with our Dubbin ears! (Or Donalds as we call them as we have to remember to duck)

No issue, they prefer you have a clear view ( no pun intended). The ClearView mirrors do have a convex mirror lower half and in my experience are much steadier, vibration free and don't 'fold up' with every passing road train.
Ok @Marv_mart wasnt sure how insurance co's look at it, I assume you would have to notify them as its a modification or they may not except a claim???
