(I'm having a little winge) We purchased our new expander in January, we had planned and completed many trips, at the end of Febuary I decided it was ready for its first service and some minor warranty work, I was pretty surprised to be told at Page Bros I couldn't book it in till MAY! Also they need it for a week what time should I book for? I feel a bit perplexed over the whole issue. Now back from our 6000kms journey I rang to book again to be told the first available time is 9:30 July 11. I think the servicing at the dealers needs some revamping. Just had to get this off my chest. BTW, I booked it in for July 11. It seems the repair/caravan servicing places I have spoken to all need for a week.

This has me a little worried, why a week? I booked mine in and was told a couple of days at most were required. I've only given them a couple of things to fix,
leaking front bed end,
very loose mixer tap - I want a lock nut put on it,
replace hand pump tap as I had a flooded kitchen bench from it leaking while on mains water last time out,
replace pressure valve on mains water tap - my kids have water pistols with more pressure,
oh, and find the short in the wiring that sporadically keeps blowing fuses in my car!

The excuse I received for the week is they have soooo many vans with different needs, warranty claims and repairs, no two vans are the same so "planning" this way helps their coordinating, oh by the way, they want $220 for the privilege of having the van for a week.

I do like going to Harding Swift Caravan Servicing in Kilsyth VIC, they are reliable, much cheaper than Jayco Servicing. They wired up my Prado for the van and installed the WDH and brake controller. When the warranty period is over I will go there. Their work is quite good.

I had my van serviced and some warranty work done at Advantage Caravan Repairs in Campbellfield, it cost $220 for the first service, but I found these guys were really good to deal with and that they kept me in the loop. When I rang Jayco to try and book my van in I was given their name and number as a Warranty & Service Agent for Jayco. Just in case you might want somewhere other then a dealer in future! Had a 2 week lag time for the booking!

I agree Greeeny I booked my van in at Page Bros for its first service and was told the same thing. I booked it in before Easter and it's not being serviced until May 21st. I also was not impressed that they want it for a week

Guys find a Jayco warranty outlet (there are many besides dealers) then get your " servicing " done with a reputable mechanic!

Who would you rather check over crucial parts like wheel bearings and brakes?

A. licensed mechanic, who has served an apprenticeship.

B. Somebody who works for a Jayco dealership.

I had the same problem in Sydney. You really need to book the first service when you first purchase.
I ended up getting a mobile bloke come to my place and do the service as well as fixing warranty issues, all authorised by Jayco Factory. He charged $210.

A lot of mechanics are not interested in caravan work. The Lube mobile guy came around to do the Jayco brake recall a couple years back (paid by Jayco). I said to him can you do the first service? They don't do caravan work was his reply.

Great idea @TACA then you could charge "the earth":D just like Jayco does? We take ours to our mechanic. He doesn't like working on caravans either but he's a fantastic mechanic and we insist:biggrin:.

I wish I had the experience. Would put a whole new meaning to mobile caravan servicing.
Could do the big lap while making some coin for myself. None members full jayco price, members would get discount
 Please someone wake me I'm dreaming!!!

Any details on this guy?
