hope your not getting that storm showing on radar bushie
Not yet but think they are expecting it, it's pretty damn warm here

Shade screen looks great, I saw them at the last Queanbeyan 4WD show, but was not game to ask cost. I looked at their web site and could not find prices.
If you don't mind Bushman what did that awning cost?
Thanks
Terry
Price does depend on size, ours at 5.2 metres wasn't cheap at $369

Thanks not cheap, but they do look great. It will have to wait till after new year.
We just spent $890 on Aussie made front seat sheepskin seat covers for the tow as our Xmas present to each other.
Certainly will think about getting one ours won't have to be as long, but it is good to have a rough idea of price.
Maybe my birthday present?

Regards
Terry

Well!, it's hard to believe the Big Beast is 2 yrs old, where has that time gone? Last year she did mostly weekenders/long weekends etc. some of those was tagging along with a mates caravan club as visitors, then our own trips including 12 days around the Riverina, this year kicks off with our usual South Coast escape, counting the sleeps. till departure

Well, last night it became very apparent that my van is wired very differently to a Jayco.
Sitting here we were plunged into darkness, first thinking park has had a blackout looking out everything outside still on, HHHHMMMM check the master switch near the door, yep all good so we should have lights at least, the battery should have kicked in.
It was at this point I noticed the microwave still had power though the fridge didn't, WTH! flick the master off/on again power comes back, go out to the boot where battery is located and could hear a beeping sound coming from solar controller (why isn't this thing inside) Anyway controller is showing 10.5v for battery, look at battery charger and know one home, power point in boot for the battery charge was off somehow:doh: and we'd had no sun for 2 days so the solar was doing bugger all.
So it would seem anything that uses 12 v runs via the battery/charger/solar
Unlike with Jayco where the Setec controls what goes on eg if on 240 it converts back to 12v for lights pumps etc and still supplies 240 for the rest, then if 240 is lost the battery will kick in.
Interestingly if I'm on 240 and the master switch is OFF the A/C and Microwave still work.

We'll after running off tanks and having to refill them numerous times over Easter due to mains pressure inlet stuffing up again, I'm convinced we don't have 95ltr tanks that we are meant to have, Anyway now the shops have re-opened after the public holidays I removed the mains inlet, went around the the plumbing store near the CP we are at and asked if they had one, "yep no problem mate" so they lightened my pocket of $41 ten minutes to refit and we now have mains connection again.

Interesting your comment re tank capacity. When we picked up our Evernew last Dec. The hand over bloke mentioned that is next to impossible to fill to stated capacity. So for a 90lt tank you might be able to only fill to say 80 prox lt. Something to do with air lock

We have a 100l tank for showers toilet etc. and a 60l tank for drinking water, we also carry some spare water jerry's in our tow and even have a 12V pump for collecting shower water from creeks etc. We have considered adding another water tank, but after checking weights of van have decided to stick with what we have and make do with the 100l tank for showers. During a recent trip we discovered a simple water saving trick for showers.

When water is limited we have wet down, lathered up then washed off soap. This has worked well for a long time to save water, but we recently tried a commercial body wash product called "QV Gentle Wash" it costs about $19 for a litre, which lasts a long time and is OK to wash hair instead of shampoo. I have a chronic skin condition that means I need to shower every day and have to be careful with what I wash with this QV stuff seems ok on my "delicate" skin. Have not tried it on very hard bore water yet, but think ti will work better than soap, which in heavy Queensland boar water does not lather.

The process is wet down, lather with the QV Gentle Wash and then wash off, the QV cleans well and washes off really easily, more easily and quicker than soap. To our surprise we were using about ½ the water per quick shower than we did with our usual soap and shampoo. Hope this helps with some of you who have limited water supply as it has us. We both can shower each day and have doubled the days we can shower from the van's water 100l supply. Sorry if this sounds like an add, but my dermatologist put me on to this stuff and it works (note for medical reasons, I also have to use the "QV skin lotion" each day as after showering).
