Brisbane to Flinders Ranges Trip - Now planned

Just out of Wilcania (on the eastern side) is a caravan park on the river, fairly safe from all reports, we travel down that way a fair bit, have never been thorugh Walgett on the way down only on the way home via Lightning Ridge, I would think more than twice before I stayed there 63K west of Cobar is a nice free camp also on the right hand side heading west, we stay there often (in the red dirt)

Thanks @DRW On the advice of others too our plan is to stay at Warrawong.

It's good....far far better than any alternative around that area but not as good as it was last year.

We stayed there just after it opened and were blown away by it but were a bit disappointed when we went back this year.

The river camp in Wilcannia is never to be contemplated....better to drive all night than stay there.
