Gave the van a wash today after getting back from Warrnambool and treated it to a birthday, I got a bit carried away. There was a lot of that sea spray grime all over it so I started on the roof then popped the roof up and did the vinyl and the awning top and bottom. Then I washed all the outside, not stopping at that I noticed a lot of dust on the vinyl top on the bed ends so I opened them up and removed the mattresses and went silly cleaning the canvas as well as the jambs and under the beds. We have some hot weather on the way so it should dry nicely. I removed the floor tiles from inside as well and was impressed how they have protected the floor. I still have to wash the floor and pressure wash the tiles and give the van a polish but I think it is well worth doing.

I do as bushman does and use a soft broom wash. Use a megairs car wash as it's got stuff to reduce removing the wax. Then when clean give it a polish now and again. Easier now I have a shed for it.

Our van is now 3 and a half months old with 3 trips up it's sleeve. I washed it on the weekend after 7 nights set up adjacent to a tree over christmas. Could not believe how dirty the roof was. I have a set of 8ft steps which gets me good coverage for the roof but it is difficult for the middle 2 feet strip down the centre. I climbed up on the roof on hands and knees and it is not something I want to do often for fear of damaging it. How effective are the broom/mop type items on poles for removing what looked ground in dirt. Some areas required a lot of elbow grease. I might have to give a good wax up there to help prevent this stuff sticking to the surface.

Apparently its elbow grease,

but cant find it at Bunnings or Coles

just took the cupboard doors in to Lamanex to replace must have cleaned them to often as the coating has rubbed through, and air-conditioner fascia had cracked "corrugated roads" the van will be good for another 50,000ks .she has two trips planed for this year
one to sunshine coast from adelaide then July to Darwin .
To replace three doors and a draw $150 lucky they still had a perfect match "cherry"
