Thanks Stuartcarr, we have one child also but she is only 1 year old now (yesterday actually) so we are going to setup one end for her but getting either some shade cloth or strong insect screen and doing the edges with press studs - similar to how the privacy screens attach, so that she is safe at night time and can't fall out etc. Also will help us if for some reason we need to contain her so the material needs to be strong enough so she can't put a hole in it.

How / where did you mount your sons DVD player?

Our first trip is planned for Christmas this year. Plan is to start in Clare Vally then head north past Wilpena Pound, Lake Eyre, Uluru, Kings Canyon etc. Will be hot but that has been taken into consideration. And if its too hot or wet, we will just change path. :) The beauty of a caravan. Unlike other trips where we have had hotels / motels booked and had to be there on certain days etc.

I will put up plenty of pics once i get the van.
Cheers
Ants

We actually had one of those portable DVD players that fold out. It was in the car, but we bought a head rest type for the pathy so i used double sided tape and attached it to the side of the fridge. We have the 150 l fridge so the side of that is his room. Found a 12 volt supply from the windguard controller and used that to power the dvd. Checked the power draw and the standard fuse is ok...

Once i open up his bed end next i will post photos.

Hey Holden Man,
The local guys just would not budge on price at all. Was worth the trip down. :) And yes I love driving too! Was a great few days. :)

Yeah mate the tow home was great. Sat on 90km / hour. Just wish i had a newer model diesel prado to save some fuel costs. At 20L / 100 the petrol 3.4 is up there.
We had 4 adults and our 13mth old in the car. She went better on the way back rather then down and was the unknown as to how many stops we would actually have to make. But all good. :)
Bet you can't wait to get your van. :)

Just saw the pics, it looks great.
Yep the diesel is good, not sure what we will get towing the van, but on a recent holiday we filled up in cairns and refueled Brisbane, Averaged 8.2/100km. total 1700km!
The wait is a killer, really lookin forward to Oct.
Enjoy the new van, hope you get to enjoy it some more soon.
