Hi megcam, it's been a while since I've been on here and notice you looked at that awesome install of diesel heater in one of the first posts in this thread. ;) A belated answer to the 2kw v's 5kw unit, I had a 2kw installed in the Hawk (tent on wheels) we had before this Expanda, (walls with tent on wheels) and it was easily enough to heat it. I went for the 5kw this time as there was no 2kw in stock and I was too impatient to wait for the 2kw unit. I've also installed 2kw units in a couple of other vans, both 19.61 Starcrafts and it is more than enough heat. Hope this late comment helps!

@greynt any photos of your install &/or tips on things to avoid?

Hi @megcam sorry I can't remember if I gave you an answer on this. As @17triton has stated, we are very happy with ours.
If you have a look at @17triton install photos that he has posted, it's the same way that I fitted it to our van. My only minor issue is the ticking of the fuel pump, which I will change location of where I mounted it and that should fix the issue. Tank of fuel lasts ages as well.

Thanks @greynt & @17triton. Just having a sticky at your install Matt. I like the idea of sectioning off the end of the bed to protect the air hose, water pump etc. I wasn't sure if I needed to duct & vent the air inlet.
I haven't ducted the inlet. The heat hose gets very warm on the initial heating until temperature is reached so wanted to keep the plastic tubs away from it so that's why I put the ply in.

Yes my fuel pump ticks a bit and will see how it goes. If it annoys me I will move it off the chassis.

I mounted my pump on a piece of sullage hose. No more tick.
