yep c gear here to, great for sand and fine dirt dust etc, wet mud can squash up and make the surface damp.
Does get slippery because the two layers of cloth slide against each other, if you stretch and peg tight this reduces the slip.
my mat comes from my last van, now i have the expands its a bit small ( 4.3 x 2.4) they don't seem to make enough sizes to get an exact fit, so i am going to get a bigger one, as with my last van i like the overhang out the annexe door, or u have the option to get it cut and stitched to fit.
one foam square at the van door also, good for shock when stepping down from from van.

Yes have to agree about the foam square for the step down especially while laying here from knee surgery yesterday lol (Not a van related injury).

hmm funny you ask, first time i tried to peg down with pegs purchased from the shop that had no points at the end, i couldn't get them through the matt, but if you sharpen them with the grinder all good, most times i only put a couple in unless very windy.
ps hope the knee gets better soon.

@bigcol do you foresee any issues by having a really large cgear matting from front to back of van with rain etc? Would the 6m x 2.4 m matting be the best size for a 17.56-2.
Also is cgear slippery all the time even on sand? Is there side awnings worth it over the sun busters as well?

Sorry @PandaLee I have been away for work -
the water (when raining and parked on a slope) ran under neath the mat - however, when you walked on it without shoes / thongs your feet get wet.....
as to the length, on my Flamingo it went from half way to the draw bar to past the back of the van - enough room for setting up under the awning etc...
on the 'Spanda it is just long enough for the "body" of the van. to me, it looks too small (like a throw rug in a dining room) but it is what you feel like.
I want a longer one, so that when I'm cooking near the draw bar - Im not in the sand / dirt

I never found it to be "slippery" when walking on, and it never moved - as I put a peg in each corner, mine came with "D"rings all around it @Colin&Sue

I have the "Coast to Coast" side shades........ so I cannot help there..

I hope this helps

Ah, big col. Mine has the d rings as well , my peg issue was pegging the annexe down through the cgear Matt, which was larger and went under my annexe walls. All sorted now with sharp pegs.
