Howdy folks. Been looking on Fleabay at annex matting, in particular the cgear multimat flooring...

Any feedback on it? What type of flooring are you using outside? And what do the caravan park managers prefer?

Hey Pete, we were about to ask the same question. We like the look of the cgear stuff. Just wondering in addition to your question, what is the general measurement of the annex that most get? We would be getting the matting up front with the plan of getting annex down the tack but want to make sure we get the right size matting

Pete,
We bought the BCF annex matting. Works well and is really tough. I think they are all much of a muchness though.
Only tip I would suggest is get more than you think you will need as the bit of extra coverage is really handy and makes a big difference to keeping under the annex tidy.

Cheers

I have two lots of flooring. One is the CGear and it works a treat on sand and grass and I think is 4.3m x 2.4m. The other is the rubber matting and I use that on concrete slabs and it's about the same size. I don't have an annex, just two privacy screens, and the flooring makes it more comfortable and helps keep the van cleaner from the kids. When not putting up the screens (short stay) I have 1/2 a dozen interlocking foam squares.

Hmm just reading this I seem to have a lot of flooring. Obsessed much!

Thanks Brookes, I think we are leaning towards the Cgear and your measurement sounds about right too. Cheers.
Pete, sorry for hijacking your post mate

We have the C Gear and is magic on sand. I love it. My wife and friends are sick of me talking about how good it is.
As advertised, sand and dirt fall straight through. It is always clean.

I would say that the only negative of this type of mat is that it can be slippery.

But, remember, every time you camp you can remind your friends that a helicopter can land on it!!!

CGear here as well. I also have the rubber squares that join together but with no holes, these come in handy if you have rocks in your awning area and can go under the CGear!

Those foam interlocking tiles are great on the concrete slab sites too when stepping down out of the van.

Another vote for the CGear mats. I have two, small and large, use the small for short stays and the large for longer set ups. Even our privacy screen is a CGear.

Bought mine from Hanibal Safari in Brisbane, first time at a show, second online. Pricing at the time was better than fleabay mailed to my door. Give them a call.

and another vote for the CGear -

we started with just shade cloth from a hardware shop on the ground,
then I had those interlocking rubber squares (takes a lot of room, and are heavy and never store well)
the I bit the bullet and brought the CGear mat about 2 yrs ago - never looked back

only problem I have found - I brought it to fit the side of the Flamingo, and its too short for the Expanda
so
my advice is - dont worry about the voices in your head going - "nah, ya dont need it THAT long"
mine fits the awning spot on - but no extra for either end -
next one I get will be the length from the hitch to the end of the bed at the back

cheers

@bigcol do you foresee any issues by having a really large cgear matting from front to back of van with rain etc? Would the 6m x 2.4 m matting be the best size for a 17.56-2.

Also is cgear slippery all the time even on sand? Is there side awnings worth it over the sun busters as well?

We have the CGear side awning. I like it as it's not all those fluro colours some of the others are.
