Hi all, I must apologize, with work being so busy and what spare time I have playing with our new toy, I have neglected to upload some more info and photos.

Picked up our 20.63 on 23rd of May. 250km trip back home with out an issues.

Got her home, setup in drive. Of-course we had to sleep in it the first night and test out all the bells and whistles.

Now for the mods;
Stone guard hit the list as need asap due to us avoiding a 4wd track and also a toolbox to store the Genset, odds and sods.

Sifted through the forums and found a few i liked. Loved the stonestopper but ended up going for the coast-rv stone guard, and a tool box from tools-in-a-box 2m x 0.5m x 0.5m.

The hardest part was i wanted to still be able to jack-knife both cars (patrol and navara) and also while jack-knifed wanted to be able to open the Navara tail-gate, and leave it open while jack-knifing (reason so can unload the quad, and motor bikes without disconnecting. So out came auto-cad, and after taking hundreds of measurements concocted this;

Now the fun part was to make it all work together. Had to move the Tap back 50mm (didn't think about that one) ended up cutting some slots in the cage in the a-frame (wanted to keep it to hold the drain pipe during travels).

All finished; toolbox has a 50mm gap to van when closed and 25mm gap when opened.

Pic of front, red tape marks the safe jack-knife lines. front is navara and back is patrol (patrol is very close, not that we really need to knife it)

The reason i chose the coast-rv was for the quick release. Because the patrol is very close when fully jack-knifed, with two minc-up-clips can pull off the stone guard. Also nice easy access to the cage for storage of the dripping stinky waste pipe.

That's the exact box I am looking at, how did you find the quality of it? Also what process did you use to attach it to the drawbar? I was thinking basically keep the bottles where they are cut a couple slots in the box for the uprights to fit through so the bottles are secure. Then drill and bolt beside the uprights into the existing gussets for the bottles to secure the box. Maybe a piece of marine ply for the base between the box and drawbar. Looks like yours is factory, nice job.

Cheers
Matt

Thanks Matt,

I am very pleased with the quality of the toolbox, the only thing I could pic would be the side doors adjustable lock bolts needed an extra bolt to stop them rattling loose.
I used the gas bottle mount plates, with two nuts/bolts one each side to hold it down and in place. I also used 4mm steel plate as washers inside the box. I also put a stip of 6mm rubber between the box and aframe, to stop any rattle, movement and also take up then space the checker plate causes steel on steel. For the gas bottles I put them smack in the middle using new shorter holders with some more 6mm plate as washers underneath, also bolted holders together. For the gas regulateors I had enough spare main pipe to simply unwind it, and put in some braided lines, with rubber adhesive tape (TV tower cable tape) and silicon to through the wall in the box.

I have a bit of left over rubber I am planning to throw on the floor of the box.

I must say that having the extra space is dam great. Put all my tools, welder, 4.6kva gen, drill, wheel chocks, level ramps, annexmat, Gerrycan in the box which now leaves the boot empty for my BBQ slide (still in progress), and hopefully soon a 200ah lithium battery and victron 3000 multipass.

Cheers Iain.

More modding today.

Fitted 100L fuel tank to Navara ready for trip across the Nullubor-Esperance-Albany-Augusta-Bussilton-Perth and back for christmas. Just fits under the cover.

Finally got around to re-doing the pipe work for the pump and tanks. Had to replace the jayco tank switch as it was always leaking and sucking in air. Setup the tank-switch in the cupboard were the pump sits, nice and easy access from inside now. Used drinking water hose everywhere except a small part used as a check valve. (top=back, bottom=front) I have no issues now with air getting in the incoming line.

While redoing the pipe work, also re-routed and tidied up the looping pipe work for the filler and breathers. To protect the pipe work from the brake cable painted up two pieces of ply. Also keeps them all nice and tidy with no handing-downs

While redoing the pipes for the tank breathers, also setup a T piece with a valve as a second breather/overflow for the tanks. Second breather goes straight down.

Used a couple of hundred cable ties i recon. While i was there, also cleaned up the other jayco cable and pipe's.

Our patrol is due to be changed over next year (Chrissy). How do you find the 200 with towing, and do you use the towing gears (or whatever you call them)?

Towing with the 200 was amazing, for the first time I kept up with the traffic. Sat on 100 on cruise all the way home, climbed the hills with ease, over took one truck and she quickly climbed to 120. I used the gears at first through the city, but ended up throwing it back into D and letting the computer do the rest, it stayed in 5th most of the time and would drop back to 4th up the steep hills.
