Hi all,
We purchased our jayco expanda new 12 months ago, from jayco Horsham, & are very happy with the van. It suits us perfectly. The service when buying the van was great, we were treated like their best friends, however since driving out the gate, they no longer are interested.
When we arrived home, we noticed that there was a screw poking through the ensuite wall, beside the toilet.
We let it go until the van went back in for its first service in May, where the salesman took photos & said he would contact jayco & get back to us. He didnt get back to us. We had to keep ringing him & finally he said it would be repaired in their workshop.
We offered to take the van to the jayco factory in Melbourne, as we were heading to Melbourne that weekend, but he assured us that horsham would fix it, & he would call us when the new wall arrived. A call never came
Fast forward to earlier this month, & we rang & told them we were going to drop the van off on Tue 22 OCT, for them to replace the wall, & check the suspension which was a bit worn.
We called in a week later to check how it was progressing, to find it untouched, & Andrew the service manager full of excuses (jayco sent the wrong wall, the suspension would have to be ok because the suspension on his 10 year old van was still like new, blah blah blah). They are a very small dealership & service dept, & we are yet to see them busy.
A call to customer service @ the jayco factory informed us that the wall was only ordered on the 23rd Oct, the day after we dropped off the van, & the wall was still sitting in Melbourne.
So far jayco horsham still cant seem to be able to ring us, we still have to call them, & Andrew is plain rude.
Has anyone had similar issues regarding warranty repairs, or advice on how to deal with this. Is there a department at jayco to deal with disputes????

Hi roynrel can only comment about Australian Caravan Company in Adelaide and have had nothing but BAD experiences with them. Work not completed when promised, no communication regarding delays, parts not in when assured they were etc etc etc. The fall all over you when purchasing but once the dotted line has been signed you are treated miserably!!!

Find a Jayco approved repairer, not a sales yard and have repairs arranged through them. Dealers are generally only interested is sales not service.

Agreed with the above. It is a shame that you are experiencing this. We have had very good service from our dealer.

Forget the dealer for the repairs, Get intouch with Jayco HQ and tell them of your disgust/dismay with said dealer, ask them for a list of other dealer/authorised repairers and go from there

Personally never had an issue with a dealer getting stuff done over 3 vans, even outside of warranty

Sorry to hear about this.
I would definately make a note of it to head office, and then take my business elsewhere.

As @Bushman says, please talk to Jayco HQ in Dandenong - they do care about their customers and their brand. Quote your van's chassis number - they have each van individually recorded and will know what parts have been ordered, when, and by whom for any warranty (even out of warranty) issues.

Yeah I would probably go elsewhere also. But I think an interesting thing happens when you drop your van off at the dealer. They all of a sudden become responsible for it and have to find space for it.
Dropping it off may push them to deal with it.

I also had a bad experience with Jayco, poor communication and incompetence with repairs.....it was all do properly by a approved repairer not Jayco!

Well our story has a happy ending. After a rather heated phone call from us, the team at Horsham finally swung into gear. The claim they drove down to Melbourne themselves, & picked up the wall. A few days later we received a call to say our van was ready. Picked up the van today, & they have done a terrific job. Everything we requested to be fixed, plus other things we weren't going to worry about. The salesman & service manager couldn't have been more helpful & friendly. Maybe they have realised that customers are important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that @roynrel
Im with them thinking that maybe your dealer does follow this site. I had issues with Brisbane Camperland and as the others said, I switched away from the dealer and went to an authorised service agent. Couldn't be happier. The service agent does not sell vans so does not care about sales - they only care about doing great quality work. :)

Cheers
