Lane Cove Tourist Park is great. Peaceful tiered park with nice views, which backs onto the Lane Cove National Park. Has a pool and is a short walk to the reasonably new Nth Ryde subway station for easy access into the city.

Hi all,

Looks like a choice between Camden, Lane Cove or a combination of the 2. I am concerned about the drive to Lane Cove and how late we will arive. Also as it will be Easter and may need to book right through. There is a planned event at Sydney Uni that we need to be at on Saturday of Easter and there is an information night next week so that might give us some guidance as to where others are staying (flying not camping).

If Lane Cove I would want to change the overnighter to Narrandera instead of Hay this gives a split of (820 / 550), which makes a big first day but a reasonable second.

Thanks for all of the visiting points, I am adding them to the list to sort through. IFly looks great and Janolan Caves are on the list.

Thanks for the all the help
Steve

and use the Woolies Fuel App (not the shop app) it's great for giving an idea of fuel prices at certain towns, prices in country NSW can change by 10 c/lt from town to town, steer clear of Coonabarabran and Narrabri fuel is top dollar.
Found diesel cheaper in country NSW than on the coast or major highways.

I found it on Google Play for Android but if it doesn't show it may not be compatable with your phone/tablet........I have it on my phone but can't get it for my tablet, PIA.
It's called Woolworths Fuel ..................here's the link from my windows desktop.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woolworths.fuel&hl=en
Thanks once I got the full name I found it on the iTunes store (it is free) under the travel category.
I have just downloaded it and it looks really useful.
Regards
Terry

So have decided on Darlington Point (thanks Cracka) and then through to Lane Cove thanks for the advice all. Just have to sort out the tolls and the list of things to do.

Thanks all for the help and happy to get a list of things for Sydeny and Blue Mountains. (I beleive that I have most of the standard ones)

Thanks
Steve

The Sydney tolls are a real pain for visitors (as are the Melb tolls). However, the toll expressways are much better than the local roads. Watch out for loss of GPS signal in the Lane Cove Tunnel, it caught me out once. Make sure you know what exit you want before you go into the tunnel.

I use the roam visitor pass as I do not have an electronic tag. When you buy it get it for the whole 30 days as it costs the same and gives you a bit more flexibility.

Have a good trip.

Thanks Terry, that looks like the go. Just curious but I have not seen on there how they handle caravans. Do I need a seperate e-pass for the caravan or do I add it to the existing.
Cheers

Depending how often you are going through the tolls, you can just ring up or jump into web to pay afterwards (within 3 days). I live in Sydney and find that more convenient.

The one e pass does both car and van last time I towed through Sydney on toll roads they tried to bill me twice once for the car and once for the van. I phoned them and sorted it out and was only charged once for the car plus van using only the car number plate. There appears no way to give them the van number as well as car number, so just check the statement they send. If they send you a seperate bill on the van number do not pay just ring them, their cameras seem to only get the rear number plate on some occasions, but not all. Poorly designed system that tends to favour the toll colector.
The call centre is in the Phillipines and so call them on a week day and ask to be put through to a supervisor otherwise the call centre can be a bit of hard work.
Also the call after you go through toll ways does work, but I am not sure, I think they charge you a higher fee? The nice thing with the 30 day deal is the flexability. Currently I am in Sydney on short notice still using the visitor e pass I set up a couple of weeks ago.
