For the fist couple of weeks of Jan I have booked in a trip to Esperance via Hyden and coming back via Denmark to see the folks.
The in the April school holidays we are of to Ningaloo Station for a week and might do Kalbarri on the way home.

First trip will be easy as we are staying in Caravan parks but the second trip is pure free camping with no shops for miles.
I better catch some fish :fish2: or we will stave.

We're hoping to get to Coffin Bay Area / Port Lincoln for a few weeks but not sure when.

We're reluctant to join the crowds in June July and not sure about the possible weather. Do any of you crow eaters know about possible rain and / or cold weather around that time?

We don't have a diesel heater, unlike some others, and don't want to freeze but can enjoy a bit of coldish weather but want to avoid cold and wet. I know there's a reason southerners go north in winter but unsure how much cold and wet we can expect at that time.

Having just endured Darwin's oppressive heat last week a bit of mild cold weather might just be attractive.

That's not fair. Just have a look at how I'm attired in my picture to see how I keep warm at this time of year. As well it takes a couple of hours of running the spa with the bypass switched to the solar matting to get it warm enough to get in. We had 42mm yesterday and today it took half the day to get it bearable. Still trying to figure out an easy way to get the diesel heater out of the van while not touring to do it faster and hotter.

BTW, hoped for trip next year is head South to Katherine, turn right, basically with detours head to the coast and follow it to South coast, East to Pt Augusta with detour to Adelaide (possibly), Loxton and back home through centre. No departure date except will be after Cyclone season fades away, no real advance bookings and no return date except 4 months or so. The less formal Caravan Parks we see the better.

The diesel heater is a bit superfluous in Darwin weather at the moment. I'd forgotten how uncomfortable it was and will avoid it in future!

I know it's much better in winter but gets very crowded. Good for NT economy but no good for me.

I might have to swallow my pride and buy a heater for a trip south.

3 weeks in January at Berrara Beach NSW (parent's front yard).

Decided not to go to the snow in 2016, but I might get tempted.

Want to go to Melbourne and do the Great Ocean Road, not sure when.

Haven't planned for Chrissy holidays, which is sad and strange as we always go to monkey Mia. April school hols we are back in coral bay. Then July we are hopefully off on our 14 week drive across the top of oz....which will turn into a complete lap. Although we are unsure as to if it will actually happen, given the troubles with the car, i.e. Clutch.
Of course, that all could get blown up by Barney and turney and then we will be on the hunt for somewhere to live. (Stupid pollies!)

Hey Smirke.

We drove from Perth to Freo a few weeks ago and saw the signs about saving houses.

Was that you? I vaguely remember reading about an issue before we left and wondered how you went.

I guess you're now moving?

Must be a pain in the proverbial.

Yep. That's me, @Dobbie . (I assume you drove along leach hwy.) my place has the green sign behind it.
We aren't moving yet. If we have our way, we won't move at all. (We are the only bit of the whole project not on a road reserve). We have been left in limbo for anywhere from 12 months to 3 years. (Stupid really, as the outer harbour is needed in 7 yrs and it will take 3 yrs to get one section up and running, 10 for the whole lot)

Must say, feels good knowing I cost the government $1 billion !!! As they say, Karma is a b#*ch.
