16.49.1 OB - are the standard 15" tyre / wheel combo sufficient???

you lucky mate, and I am glad to hear it is so because it means that jayco probably realised that the brand they where using (the ones on mine simply werent good enough..

Mine have a load rating of just over 900...

Question for you though: if your ATM is over 2056kg then where does that leave you with a 2000kg axle?

Sorry, misread on the bridgestone site. However, 1030kg is still over the atm, particularily if you take out the 160kg on the ball. ATM 2056 - 160 = 1896kg supported by axles. 2 Tyres at 1030kg each is 2060kg support, well above the 1896kg supported. Remembering that all of this load limits and weights are calculated at static, so the safety factors allowing for the non-static forces during driving are calculated into the load ratings.

Just reading through this thread and wondering what the response was from Jayco and their tyre/axel loads.
We too have the 16.49-1 OB but with an ATM of 1950kg. Will check the ball weight next time I'm at the van but from memory it was around 150kg.
Like you, am now wondering if the 15" tyres are sufficient???
