I have a small lcd led tv for use in the caravan, for free camping would i be better getting a 12v tv or getting an inverter for my current (pardon the pun) TV?

If you get a 12v you do not loose converting up and back down again. If you already have/getting a inverter for other things and have a TV might not be too much amps compared to buying a new TV.

We just received today a 28" Palsonic from DSE (Only $175 inc 12.5% off the other night) hooked up using a 12v cable I got cheap off Kogan works fine in the back of the car.. no caravan yet. Had a 22inch I could of taken from the kids room.. Although thought easier leaving one in the caravan and getting a 12v TV. I already have to pack enough stuff from inside.

We ordered a 22" 12V sphere through Jayco with our van.....wouldn't get another sphere!
Yep. I know they are a small tv but the sound is crap and not the best pic quality. But in saying that it will only ever be used if at a van park as normally free camp and are out there for the scenery not the tv :)

12v TV is the way to go, we oringinal had a Polariod brand from BigW with our first camper, then digital came in and I got jack of seting up the set top box all the time which was only 240v.

Went into Good Guys one day for something else and came home with a 15" 12v/240 GVA Digital for under a $100, it was meant to replace an old thing we had in the kitchen now lives in the van.

We have a 24" Kogan. Sound and picture quality has been good for us. Mind you....we don't watch a lot of tv and it is only for dvds. We have a 16.49.1...does anyone keep theirs mounted when travelling?
