I've only had to wait two weeks to get my new Expanda, since putting the deposit down I've been obsessed with this damn thing! Every night I dream about it, every day I'm trawling these forums, my garage is full of stuff that I've bought to use with it, I've spent a couple of hours today making up a water proof bed end and my every thought is consumed by the desperate need to GTFO here and go camping!

I don't know how those who have to wait for months to get their new toys manage, this is torture!

Suspended animation can work. Otherwise try to take up a hobby or volunteer for a local charity.

Nah, just kidding. Nothing dulls the pain...

Speaking of charities, I am heavily involved with VOCAL- Victims Of Crime Advocacy League. We help people in Victoria who are victims of major crimes against the person (murder, attempted murder, rape and very serious assault)

It's one of the reasons I need a holiday!

We bought one off the lot, no waiting :). If we had wanted the opposition van it would have been 6 months wait, that was a major detterent

For goodness sake @Adam G , you've got a bad case, but it's not the worst we've seen. Even I managed to wait a full two weeks without collapsing into a crying heap.*
I'm sorry all our professional counsellors were too busy to provide you with the level of support you think you need.
I'd gladly help you myself, but I'm a bit busy at the moment researching another mod for my Expanda.

Seriously, volunteering with VOCAL must be rewarding. I'm sure it helps keep life in perspective but is also sometimes emotionally and physically exhausting. You'll certainly appreciate those escapes in your Expanda to recharge your batteries.

As long-time volunteers ourselves, and now members of the "aged and outwardly idle" brigade Mrs XF and I are as busy as ever and never feel guilty about taking some time out for ourselves every so often.

(There is absolutely no truth to the rumour that I wanted to camp outside Prestige Jayco for the second week!)

This topic is so appropriate for us too Adam G, spent the whole day at the Caravan and Camping show in Adelaide today. Went back to the Jayco stand a least 4 times, I'm sure they thought we were mad o_O. The new van is so close now but still too far away:ambivalence:.

It's OK. Jayco's business success is built on us mad people.

I've mentioned this in another thread. A idea to make the time go faster is to book un unpleasant medical procedure for the day after pickup. Ie prostate examination etc. time always flys preceding something like that!;)
By the way, you have it easy. I ordered mine in March, an then after waiting almost 5 months, with only 10 days to go, I've had to put the delivery date back to because of an O/S business trip...Hence the 00.00.00 timer. :(

We were hoping for an update and to schedule pick up for ours today... No phone call :(
Hopefully will get date for hand over in the next day or so. The last week or two waiting is getting to be a killer!
