This is how I did the sail track on our "weather proof" bed ends some two years ago. The screens are made from black truck tautliner material and proved too heavy for the press studs (even after above mod) as i originally wanted the same solution, something that could be folded up under the hard lid. Had the later commercially available ones been around I may have gone that way but tbh I am not fussed on the plastic sail track and where's it mounted.

Perhaps Scott can come up with something that mounts to track like I have?

Yeah, I do have a few ideas, I'm thinking a zip-o zip-off set up with a clear plastic curtain and a canvas one and you can change it over to suit the conditions. Be cheaper than the commercial products available.

We have light weight canvas bed fly's that clip onto the original privacy screen studs, but, since we have owned the van I have never used them, they are folded up under the dinette, but they do feel quite light.

I bit the bullet and just went out and ordered a set from Holiday Canvas after seeing Lara's they look like they were made as part of the Panda. So now all have to do wait for there arrival, then I will have an excuse to go and play in my so call man cave.

I'm making up couple of bed ends right now, my idea of simplifying them did not quite work in practice but in the end they will be good, will post some pics soon.

Hi crustt, will contact you soon (is via your email ok?) re purchasing some of the clear window covers from you. We were at the Adelaide Caravan and Camping show on the weekend sitting in the vans trying to decide if we want the short sides, long sides or both :ambivalence:.

A lot go for 3, 2 shorts and a long, the theory being that you don't need one under the awning.

Damm Crustt you didn't tell me you were making bed ends after receiving the awning windows and seeing the way you put them together I defiantly would of had a look at a set. That's a real bummer.

Hey Rojo, Thanks glad you liked them. I wont ever be mailing hard lid covers around the country anyway, I'll only be doing them as a custom job and fit them myself in my shed, that way I can fix any brain fades without any one else knowing.

Hey Crustt I got the van out yesterday put the clear window covers you made for me absolutely fantastic. the only thing I should have added another 10mm length ways the height is spot on. The weight fits what I will do when we get nice warm day I will realign the middle, as I said to you once before the actual measurements from the factory are all over the shop. Either way they do fit and they look like they are part of the panda. I will put up some pics later today to show of your work. Let me know once you have put the finishing touch's to your bed ends.

Okay thanks, I will do that. I just got a big box of 38mm velcro so I will be using that all the round so it will allow for the variation

Anywhere in the great outdoors
We have these too that Crustt made us and love them. They let in so much light and keep you dry. Are a huge bonus to the van.

Really hope the bed ends your talking about and making now are ours Crustt. ;)

Cant wait to see them.
